BC Chapter March all topics/bs thread, all welcome

Happy March all. Has spring finally sprung?

bigrigfixer 03-01-2009 06:06 PM

I washed my truck and my wife's car today. And washed down the driveway too. All in time for it to start raining.

But at least I got all the winter grime off of both of them.

Oh, and I'm wearing shorts too. Nice 9 degrees today.

AzBlueWolf 03-01-2009 06:14 PM

I washed my truck today also...

86 degrees today...90 on tuesday...

looks like spring in Phoenix!

bigrigfixer 03-01-2009 06:20 PM

I guess 9 C converts to 49 F.

Tolerable anyway.

How's Mark? Still living with pain?

AzBlueWolf 03-01-2009 06:25 PM

it hasnt been that bad...

I went back to work last monday...a whole different pain...

I ran out of aleve tuesday and havent bought anymore yet...

bigrigfixer 03-01-2009 06:30 PM

Has your doctor prescribed you Naproxen yet?

That stuff works great.

Sure rub it in.......we woke up to another 2 inches of snow at the house today. LOL

Saleenguy 03-01-2009 06:39 PM

I really want to move away from the kamloops area, just tired of living in this area, and near my father inlaw, who is a total prick.
My MIL is cool at least.

Anyways looking at these two places, both have pros and cons.

Log Home for Sale!

Farms and Acreages for sale in Dunster Dunster, British Columbia

Saleenguy 03-01-2009 06:49 PM

Hey Kona, whenever you need that welding done on your quad, just let me know.
I am here for a few more days, then will be up north for 10 to 14 days, then back, so can do it before i go, or when i get back.

Saleenguy 03-01-2009 06:51 PM

I wanted to drop some rep points on a few cool guys, and am out of rep to give.....anyone know why there is this limit imposed on how much you can give people?

Vinford 03-01-2009 07:06 PM

Dunster?
Ouch........................

Saleenguy 03-01-2009 07:11 PM

Ken, that whole valley is gorgeous, and the sledding, quading, fishing, etc is second to none.:-drink

Vinford 03-01-2009 07:56 PM

I agree ,i like it there also but dont know about living there?

I looked at some of the places for sale on your link and there are some nice places.
Its the middle of nowhere .

I lived up on the Alaska hyw. and had my fill of living nowhere.

Even here we have to drive 3 hours to get to Kamloops or Prince and we still arent anywhere when we get there!

I have lived in PG, Kamloops, Vancouver, and Calgary.
I hate cities, and the only times i liked where I lived, was my time living in the country.
The outdoors feels like my home!

Its just 20 minutes to Mcbride, and 35 mins to valemount from that house.

And if i feel the need to visit a city, by plane its 90 minutes from the time I am done doing my run-up to touch down in vancouver, or cowtown.
Or i can land on the private strip on the golf course right outside kelowna, as my pal has a condo on the course, and airfield priveldges.
So its easy to get anywhere.

Vinford 03-01-2009 08:21 PM

You have a plane?

Saleenguy 03-01-2009 08:36 PM

Yes, and there is a nice strip a guy i know has in his back yard just south of mcbride.
It would take us about 10 mins by truck to the plane from that house.
And he is more than happy to let me leave my plane there.
So far 4 planes are there as a home base.
And its so damn cheap to park there, he charges a measly $400 per year.

Snowed 6" over night and is still snowing here. Spring looks to be a long ways off here.

Zip 03-02-2009 03:24 PM

It sure looks like spring here today. Sat out on the front steps having an early afternoon coffee. Weather network says it is supposed to get down to something like -17 on Thursday and Friday night.

Saleenguy 03-02-2009 04:51 PM

Happy Monday everyone.

BCHauler 03-03-2009 11:43 AM

Gray skies and kind of gloomy today. Thinking about taking some truck pics today, anyway.

bigrigfixer 03-03-2009 01:08 PM

Raining here.

J_E_Summit 03-03-2009 01:33 PM

Gray Skies and warm here. Making a mess out of yesterdays snowfall. Thats ok, too busy at work to go outside anyway.

AzBlueWolf 03-03-2009 09:39 PM

the dosage is stronger...just take more aleve...

Good evening all!

I take generic naproxen sodium (2 or 3 a day) depending on how I feel in the morning.

Big snow storm going on right now. And I mean BIG. Lots of wind as well.

Kind of a crappy week here. Wife has to go spend a couple weeks in the hospital, mill shutting down for a week, taking off a shift. Still have a job but may loose my soft weekend shift. Found out today one of my nieces was diagnosed with diabetes today.

Arctic Wolf 03-05-2009 03:17 AM

Diabetes is and isnt a big deal as long as you watch yourself theyll get through it. Itll be with ya all your life but you learn to cope with it. Are the Docs going to put her on metformin??

Arctic Wolf 03-05-2009 03:21 AM

As for myself it looks like Im off another flippin month. Its been a month already and Im not aloud to do half the things that I normaly do. Thank goodness WCB finaly came through. It was getting tight for a bit there.
However on a lighter note my youngest is loving Daddy take her to school in the mornins.

Zip 03-05-2009 03:22 AM

Our oldest has had it since she was 9 she is 27 now so we have a pretty good knowledge about it. Some are lucky and some not so much. We spent a week down a childrens hospital after she was diagnosed.

I remember when she first got it we went home and threw out anything with sugar. Now there is not much she doesn't eat, just adjusts insulin accordingly.

Arctic Wolf 03-05-2009 03:39 AM

On insulin eh?? Thats what I try and stay away from. My pills are good enough for me. My mother has it as well. She stopped taking her meds for almost a yr because she thought it wasnt helping her. Now shes payin for it. 2 Strokes and not only a diabetic but was recently diagnosed with breast cancer.. Shes going in for an operation in a few weeks:-X16

Zip 03-05-2009 04:20 AM

Sorry to hear about your mom.

If you ever need a shot just give me a call. I'm pretty good at it.
