M%$#^& F*&%#@ State of California!!!!

Went to have my truck smog tested today and the guy at the test station came back to me and said he couldn't pass me because of my "tuner". I said it wasn't a tuner but rather an engine monitor that did NOTHING to the engine. He was referring to my Edge Insight. He said I should go elsewhere. Went to another station and that guy said he couldn't pass the truck with ANYTHING plugged into the OBDII port. Unplugged the Insight and he wanted to know what my Transfer Flow "Fuel Monitoring" system was and also what "that thing that went to the radiator hose" was, I explained that it was a coolant filter and nothing more.

I finally got a smog certification but man the state of California has these smog guys scared to death of diesel pickups.

It SUCKS!!!!

I live in Riverside County, Ca. and have a coolant filter, P.S. filter and Scangauge ll on my 05 P.S.D. Had it smogged at a Riverside City Ford dealership and had no problems at all. You either have a dud dealership/tech or more is on your truck than you are disclosing.

BLADE35 10-15-2012 07:15 PM

Pretty soon All you will be able to drive in Cali is Hybred Electric cars LOL

bismic 10-15-2012 07:21 PM

A government big enough to give you everything you want is also strong enough to take it all away.

Think about that come Nov. 2nd!!! :-hair The more freebies thay are giving the more control they are getting. And NO, Medicare and SS are not freebies. You paid for them providing you are legally here.

olfordsnstone 10-15-2012 08:43 PM

To the freeloaders wanting what they feel is entitled. The government can't give you anything that it didn't TAKE from someone else... And as for me personally, I'm tapped out. Where's it gonna come from when there aint nothin left? The only hope and change I have in mind is getting the current clown out of office.

Drive train wise the truck is bone stock except for the coolant filter.

Really didn't mean to make this a political thread.

The people in Cali deserve every bit of what they receive. I couldn't get out of there (Yorba Linda) fast enough.

nope. no trail mix in yorba linda.
just gracious living. they say that on all the
license plate frames:

Yorba Linda
Land of Gracious Living

a ton of politically charged comments on this
thread, and a common idea is that of the two
choices you have for president in november,
that voting for one of them will make a difference
in smog laws. being honest, i don't see that
being affected by who gets elected in november.

you want to change how the country isn't working,
start with the senate and congress. if a soldier in
a position of responsibility on a battlefield were to
behave as our elected representatives have behaved,
obstructing and damaging our government, and keeping
it from functioning, they would be court martialed for treason.

that is a bipartisan observation. and it spans 30 years.
there aren't any innocent bystanders in politics.

I am directly exposed to the authority increase that the current administration has given the EPA. It is frightening and US industry can not be healthy under this advance of power. We are one of the cleanest industrial countries and all we are doing is moving manufacturing to the dirtiest countries (and making them rich). World polution escalates as a result (and our economy suffers and the quality of our jobs also suffer). I do agree about Congress being a huge issue, but the leadership at the top is pushing the HEAVY burden of environmental regulations - and it will escalate.

That being said - sorry I started the politics (but voting is HUGELY important).
