well guys i have good news and bad news

Good news is that ill be driving my truck again
Bad news is that i totaled my beater car today. bought this little dodge neon with 40k on it for $400 with not one problem with it.

some ahole pulled out on me at an intersection today and tboned me. the pictures dont do the damage justice. the car was no start and the wheels were lodged up in there.

luckily i was ok just real banged up. took a trip to the ER.

thanks guys. i gotta wake up at 2am to give my dad some meds. im sure ill be plenty sore!

bulla 09-30-2011 10:13 PM

Is it not drivable? Doesn't look that bad! Unless your the kind of person that needs all the doors to open. I mean if it is drivable why take a chance on another beater when you know the one you have is ready to except for the recent reconstruction of the body. Lol! Heck I'd get what I could for the accident and save it for my truck fund/ emergency fund! And yes I said it in the proper order. Hehe! All jokes aside, glad your ok. It could of been a super duty instead of a crown Vic and we know for sure who would of one that battle!

frdf250 10-01-2011 09:27 AM

nahh the neons not drivable. its a no start. and i cant even get the hood open, im sure if i tried i would be able to but it blue books for 2000 and i only paid 400 so i figured ill put that money towards.....fuel saving mods :) :)

Franko72 10-01-2011 09:55 AM

Yeah, what Dave said... I would make that neon run at least thru the winter...I wouldn't let my truck near any salt...:-X18

It won't start because the impact activated the fuel cut-off switch. Push the button on the switch and it will start with no problem. Yes, the fender might have been pushed into the hood making it DIFFICULT to open, but to say that 'I can't get the hood open' is an overstatement. There appears to be no structural damage to that car. It should run and drive with no problems. It might need an alignment though, due to the sideways movement of the wheels.

Phil, take the insurance money and get a diesel VW. I keep looking at CL for em, and they are reasonably priced.
If I ever get off the road (real job) I'm going to get me one to run around in. Might even make a rally car clone just for fun.

frdf250 10-01-2011 08:16 PM

lol franko you are tempting me so bad right now. my buddy bought my 2004 Subaru Sti and he has been coming over for the past week. im dying to get another. but a diesel vw would be pretty sweet. ugg im guna start looking lol.

frdf250 10-02-2011 06:41 PM

hahahha unfortunately PA state law required that all doors that are present be functional. lol. needless to say the handle works they will not, and probably never open. yes a motorcycle would have been absolutely terrible. yikes i can not imagine.
