Marty, I didn't realize that you had equipment.

What kinda riggen are you running and does your company specalize in anything in particular?

I downsized the equipment I have a lot, as part of my destressing.

All I have left is 4 gravel trucks, all are kenworth T800's, and then tandem pups for them, and also 2 trailers the gravel trucks can tow to haul the backhoes.
The backhoes are 4 J.D.'s two are 310's and two 410's....thats all i have left.

Jason your area would be paradise to a dualsport owner.
You can legally ride on roads to trails etc.
Then just keep going....its awesome.

If down here and you want to , i have a few dualsports, we can go out riding, you can ride one of mine, you will be addicted in no time i bet.:-drink

Well its an open offer, if you are down and have time to go riding, we have some cool country to be found on a DS bike.:-drink

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 05:07 PM

That is a problem. I got lucky, my mom happend to run across my 67 that some guy had to get rid of for the money, only paid $1000 for it. I drove it for two years daily, until the tranny shelled itself.

I like the 66's also.

J_E_Summit 06-05-2009 12:26 PM

Don't worry Marty, I may be backlogged with work, but the company won't approve OT, so it will continue to back up:)

Well I guess at least you know you have work to go to everyday.

So is there a lot of building, and projects going on in smithers now?

J_E_Summit 06-05-2009 12:40 PM

Our office has 5 full time staff, 2 temporary, and 1 summer student (2nd year engineering). We have $20 million in construction this year and much of it is still in the design phase:-hair

It sounds like I am going to working in Kitwanga and Kitwancool for a few months starting in a couple of weeks, which sucks because my boss wants me to find a place to stay out there and I really aint interested in living in either of those cespools:confused:

tiny1 06-05-2009 12:45 PM

A quick afternoon Marty, Jason, Chris, Pete, Joe and everyone else that drops by today.

J_E_Summit 06-05-2009 12:52 PM

How is your weekend treating you Neil?

So can you at least come home on weekends?

Who takes care of the horses when you go away.

I have a few more hours before it starts but it should be a decent one and hopefully productive.

I see that you are buried with design work... not my idea of fun.

AzBlueWolf 06-05-2009 01:03 PM

Az is breezy!!

it is also a bit cooler than yesterday at this time...only 30°C!

I need to fill the waterjugs and pick up some ant killing dust...the puppy goes out in the yard and lays on the anthills and brings ants back in with it!

J_E_Summit 06-05-2009 01:07 PM

I don't know for sure yet. I am hoping that I can come home on weekends. I am allso hoping that I can find a nice RV trailer to stay in and a place where I could keep a horse. Then I would haul the horse home on the weekends.

Well, its kinda a toss up between design work and living on a remote reserve for 3 months:)

UH OH, a house full of ants would not be fun at all.

So are fires in AZ not too bad then yet.
We are being all burnt up all over the interior of BC.
The air here is literally a blue/gray haze.

That would be cool.

I have seen some not bad looking used travel trailers here cheap.

Or you could buy a used camper to just go right on the truck.

J_E_Summit 06-05-2009 03:32 PM

Well, I crunched some numbers. The cost of me living in a hotel in Halzelton (closest hotel) would be $5317/month including meal allowance, comute time and mileage. Looking at the local buy & sell, I could buy a decent used travel trailer for $7500. I figure I can offer the company $4000-$4500/month and I look after myself. In three months, I could easily pay off the trailer, pay a landowner rent to allow me & the horse to stay on their property, and still make money.

What do you guys think? Should I make the pitch to my boss?

JE
