I've been wondering this also. We know that this model was offered in Mexico. But theses seem to be USA built. The info must be out there some where. Maybe take the Vin #'s and info previously posted and do your own web searches. Inquiring Ford minds need to know. I think NumberDummy's idea of checking with Ford historians at Museums may be the answer.

It's amazing that not much has happened since the first go around on the topic? I'm currently trying to locate hubcaps for the truck due to one not being in the best shape. I think they are C8UZ-1130-B hubcaps. Does anyone have any ideas on where to find any?

Thanks,
David

David, I assume this is for an E-series van.

It is best to create you own thread instead posting a request on someone else's.

FTE has a Van forum as well.

Meanwhile I'll check my book to see what it looks like.

I have nothing to add either, but would be interested in seeing what happens.

I was browsing around at some doors for some hardware and came across a door with this plate (too bad not attached to a truck). Anyway, I kept the plate for proof of the VIN

VIN# F13YPC01098
WB: 133
Color K
Type/GvW: F130
Body: BD4
Trans: G
Axle: 23J
Max GVWB 06150
1976 54

If you google some wantads for Mexico and translate, there are several F130 trucks for sale, but no pictures.

Just wanted to see how this ends up.

4x4 Bart 01-09-2008 08:59 AM

F13 = ?

Y = 360 2V

P = Twin Cities Assembly Plant (Twin Cities: Minneapolis & St. Paul, MN)

C01098 = 1976

133" Wheelbase

K = Bright RED

Type GVW: F130 = ?

BD4: BD = RED all Vinyl / 4 = Styleside Pickup

G = C6

23J: 23 = Dana 60 ( ! ) / 3.31-1 / 5300 lb. Rear Axle Capacity / J = Power Steering

6150 lbs. GVWR

1976 = 1976 year model

54 = Omaha, Nebraska Ford District Sales Zone Office - Where the original selling dealer ordered the truck from.

While 5 lug Dana 60's were an option on 1961/67 F100's, it's super rare to see one in a 1973/79 F100/150.

That prolly defines what an F130 is: A Heavy Duty F100 pickup.

Why did Ford bother?

If you read back right from the start .....That's what I have saying all along Bill.

An F100 with Dana axles.

I just want to know why they don't list it in any literature
