I have 2000 F150 7700, 4x4 regular cab Work series.
As anyone with a 7700 knows already, it is 5.4, auto, 3.73 axles, 4 wheel antilock disk brakes.
76k miles. Mods are: Gibson shorty headers, Flowmaster cat back dual exhaust, reese hitch, Westin nerf bars, bug deflector, Sportmaster tonneau cover (2 broken plastic corner pieces that I can't replace because they are out of business) Edge programer/monitor, and Goodyear mudders.

I ran Baer front rotors and EBC pads and rear rotors. The Baer rotors were junk, had to replace them after less than a year because of bad rusting causing them to pit and come apart in chunks.

I only had a couple issues with the truck. The ABS pump went bad just out of warranty,
it was replaced by dealer under owner assistance program. All service was done by dealer and it had low miles, it cost me about $200 to replace (for the labor I think). One ABS sensor physically broke (not Fords fault, I broke it when I buried truck in blue mud). The low idle sensor went bad, truck would stall unless you kept foot on gas.

And the one that irritates the hell out of me..........the passenger side exhaust manifold leak that just about every Ford has. I had the clicking from the manifold leak and dealer service dept never said a word about it. Should have been fixed under warranty. I never brought it up, I should have. I won't make that mistake again.

Just an FYI

I was in a junkyard yesterday near philly & saw a 7700 there. Looks like the rear & most of the front end was still there. Rossi's in King Of Prussia, PA

1998 Ford F250LD XLT 4x4 Super Cab, dark toreador red ext (burgundy) with Light Prairie Tan accent along bottom, Medium Prairie Tan interior, flip out rear side windows, 96K miles, 5.4L, tow package, all stock except for larger tires (265-75-r16) & a hitch/brake control/wiring connection to pull a gooseneck - my dad bought it new & I bought it from him about 5 years ago. Always loved this truck so I jumped on the opportunity to buy it when he decided to get a new F250 Super Duty. Have alot of plans for mods...but little money.:( Maybe someday!:) Plan on having her forever, so theres time.

Issues have been minimal - o2 sensor, u joints, brakes & tires replaced, Mass Air Sensor needed cleaned, of course the factory recall on the cruise control...think thats about it.

sigh - I thought I was getting a 99 F-250LD and had agreed on price after my mechanic had a look - shook hands, all good - few emails and then, poof. Kid vanished - only to tell me after my 2,000 text that he sold it to a buddy. Killed me, just killed me. Still so miserable. :-arrgh

waaaah - not nice, not nice at all.

99 F250LD 4x4 Lariat, White, Screw.

Bought used after being used as a work truck, so high miles 185,000, but still going strong.

Mods - slightly bigger tires (which need to be replaced soon), missing passenger side mirror (oops), disabled driver's-side power door lock (oops, it was barely working, but my fix killed it all together), intermitant wipers (whether or not I actually turn them on, they intermitantly come on all on their own), angled running boards (I guess the folks who owned it before me drove over something big??), disabled overdrive on/off switch (missing when I bought it).

Still, looks pretty good and runs really well.

Daily Driver.

I'm ready to start making this a project truck, but I may have to wait a while.

Looking through the site to get some fixes and I found my Orig post and decided to update.

Still got this baby - she came with us to DFW - and she's still running.

Over 230,000 at this point, but I only get to see the OD every once in a while - when it decides to work.

Upgraded the side mirrors to some decent tow mirrors.

Only other mods are cheetos stains from the kids (which I decided to have instead of fixing the truck up - pretty fair trade).

No longer a daily driver - man has gas gone up since I first posted - but I drove her as one the last couple of weeks and she did fine.

Replacing my 1997 F250 regular cab XLT with 2003 150 7700. Primarly used for plowing. Gonna miss power locks/Windows and bucket seats. New truck is an xl but good shape. Old one (now for sale) has 198,000 and still runs GREAT! I just love this model truck, perfect compromise between a 150 and a Superduty.

I have a 1999 F250 LD Base, nothing fancy. The motor went KABOOM at 106K miles! It now has a new Ford remanufactured 5.4L. 3.73 gears

tjfly 07-17-2012 11:27 PM

2001 F-150 XLT 7700

139k miles, looks like a two year old truck, almost showroom new. No wear on seats even! Just bought it.

Nothing major yet, just settling in with small stuff I can fix from info on this forum: slow windows, loose shifter, etc.

Hauls something fierce, uses gas the same way. I hooked up my scan gauge 2 to the ODB (OBC?) connector and have been watching mileage. Ouch! Will have to remove that reminder soon.

Fun toy.
