Don't know. My buddy said he got back and it's always the 1st weekend. Kind of on the fence if its in coordination with the rally. Would be less expensive if the rally wasn't going on.

Schmitty goes to Sturgis every year. Ive been invited a few times but never went. Im waiting on Mike and D. Stevens (Ls aunt and uncle) to make a trip out there.

kjett 08-15-2012 01:47 PM

Tell them to go next year. You'll still get stuck in the same classes as me and Schmitty simply because of the aluminum heads. But look on the bright side, it's side by side mud drag racing!

alpha/omega 08-15-2012 02:05 PM

Im not dragging my truck over a 1000 miles one way to race.

kjett 08-15-2012 02:08 PM

What? Come on, not much different than coming up to VA or me going down there. Just a couple hours longer for the tow. :D

alpha/omega 08-15-2012 02:20 PM

VA is 5 hrs.

Youre talking about https://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en

1,837 mi, 30 hours
In current traffic: 30 hours
Interstate 26 W and I-90 W

Paul, we could barely make it home from Skynyrds (3 miles) after that Optimator.

77mud 08-15-2012 05:10 PM

i won't drag my sheot over 3-4 hours for a race.... even with the diesel now....

alpha/omega 08-15-2012 05:18 PM

Btw, bought a 44lb spool of .035" solid core mig wire for $77 today. Pretty good price i think

hav24wheel 08-15-2012 06:38 PM

I wouldn't drag my stuff that far for a race either.

O and Karl, almost all the mud drags that I know of in these parts are side by sides.

kjett 08-16-2012 07:14 AM

I'm working on getting a place to do side by side. Most won't do it simply becasue the lack of space not to mention the added cost for insurance. Gonna try though.

We did some sweet donuts in your buddy's front yard though!! :-X03

And I think it was the 3 or so 18pks before we went there that did us in, not the optimator and my rum/cokes.
