Well, Ford has disappointed a lot of people in a lot of different ways, but it looks like Mulally is starting to right the ship... only time will tell.

Umm there is more than one GM 350. While the Chevy 350 may be in the majority there are others.

I don't trust you, and no, Ford has very little clue what they are doing.

Trivia time for the uninformed:

Mod motors were originally devoloped to be used in FWD applications...hence the tight bore spacing and narrow bearing width. Final product ended up being a tad LONGER than the Windsor it replaced!!!

I'll have one for you every day IF you really want to learn instead of just spoutin' crap. (you are startin' to sound a little like '93Ranger and V10 Cougar with a tad better grasp of the English language)

One of two things needs to happen............you either stop taking your meds or you actually try to build something using Ford parts.

When this happens, your true Ford loyalty will be tested.

1. i know what you are saying.. but i was watching some of the things that ford has been doing lately and it seems that they are some pretty good descions.. FORD seems to be back on the right track and i truely think they will be okay and i think you do to. as my old grandpa use to say " you can only go down so low till things start to return in your favor and you begin to go up" and ill be sticking to the blue oval till that happens (part of that Brand loyalty thing i guess )

2. I learn something from 95% from your post .. If you notice i never challenge your information because you obviously know more than I and i really do appreciate your comments and opinions.

3. my loyalty has been tested many many times.. to the point for a period of time I just HATED FORD .. while it does seem like fords quality has improved but some of their engineering is severly lacking like doing simple things like changing a fuel filter on my escort can take HOURS!!! not because we didn't know what we were doing just because the filter was in the wrong Damn Place with NO ROOM To work with!:-X15

4. i hope that one day you can get the bias you have towards me ( i have no idea where it came from ) but i can assure you i dont have the same feeling towards you:-X22 .. your still one of my favorite persons on FTE:-drink

DOHCmarauder 02-12-2007 05:55 PM

Dude, no "bias" at all...........but when you write crap like this:

"just let them do their job and you do yours and everything will be okay besides how many times has ford disappointed us in the past??? I'm guessing none otherwise you wouldn't be here"

It kinda of makes me shake my head in wonderment.

Put a lift kit on my F-250 last year........99.99% finished with the job, went to install dropped pitman arm.

Guess what? There were 3 DIFFERENT pittman arms used on 2WD Super Duties!!!!! (see, I let Ford do their job........they screwed me..LOL!!)

Truck sat another week untill correct one came in!!!

Here is a photo.........."almost" done.

Here's our new truck right here:-missingt The 2009 FORD F150

NumberDummy 02-13-2007 10:04 AM

I saw a pic in either Motor Trend or ? The front end drawing of the 2009 F150 had an Fusion style grille...three chrome bars. That "picture" you posted looks like the truck might run a little warm...there's not much separation between those grille bars...to allow much in the way of airflow.

linkinluver07 02-13-2007 10:19 AM

DOCH and 79 I follow you and i understand what you are saying. but i think Detroit is finally waking up and I truely hope maybe the things that you guys have noted will no longer happen.. :-X16

But on another note i dont even understand why we keep having this argument over and over again.. IF the FORD MOTOR COMPANY could have gotten more power out of the 5.4 i dont doubt they would have done it. i mean you guys have to take into the fact emmisions, fuel econonmy and realiabilty etc.. have to come into fact somewhere. I'm pretty sure ford did not PURPOSELY try to put themselves behind.. and another thing with the others having all "new" trucks I would Certianly hope that they could "out-perform" a model that debuted in 03' with very little changes:-X15 .. their has to be a lot more in a truck than just horsepower. :-X02

I mean come on what do we have here race cars or pick-up trucks.. funny thing is you guys keep calling the f150 weak but yet it has a best in class towing capacity of 11,000 pounds and payload of over 3000 pounds but its weak:-huh

I'm sorry but i'm really confused:-huh

I mean by all means if you find something better by all means BUY IT.. that's part of being an AMERICAN.. YOU have a choice.. I buy ford because i like fords. Not because I'm trying to save the company. but if i thought for one minute there was a better product then i would then i would own one... but unfortunatly that's not the case.. Hell Im currently looking for an older civic/geo/escort etc. for a commuter vehicle. since my 95' Escort (that why the sigs there:-D ) died last saturday (Damn Mother-Nature:mad: ) and which ever one i find for a better deal and in better condition is the one that I will be buying REGARDLESS of the brand:-D

(p.s The funny thing is that next year all the guys googling over the tundra are going to forget that there is a toyota:-X14 .. just seems to be the latest thing like the Chrysler 300C was a couple of years ago.. maybe one day they'll learn:rolleyes: )

It's not that the trucks are being compared soley on HP, its the fact that the f150 is so far behind it stands out much more. I don't think there is any doubt that the F150 has the best frame/driveline strength (overkill or not..) out there and from a subjective standpoint it is probably the best looking one too.
