im2tall33 12-03-2010 12:43 PM

last year.. i had two differnet mustangs last yeat i had a 90 lx 2.3 4cl for a bit and traded it for an 85 lx with a full 89 gt conversion to it.. i sold it just before the winter last year thinking we were going to have too much snow and we didnt get any!!!

67nukeford 12-03-2010 12:44 PM

I just have the 68 my brothers and I own. I'd really like to have an 84-85. 302, T-tops, that burnt orange color they had then. I remember test driving one when I was washing cars at a dealer back in 85.

im2tall33 12-03-2010 01:21 PM

they are so fun.. my only gripe with mine was the guy kept the rearend from the v6 in it and the same gearsw too

Have any pics? I always loved the body style ever since I watched Bullitt as a lad.

Really? Go through all that work and he didn't beef up the rearend? I would prefer not to trash the rearend initially.

Yeah buddy! Love curly fries!!LOL! Here is a pic of the 68..and our 39 Ford Coupe.

Man, I absolutely love both of those, very clean. Magnum 500s are my favorite wheel, bar none.

Very nice job.

67nukeford 12-03-2010 02:19 PM

Thanks. They both actually belonged to my mom. The 39 was restored by my late step father and I. She bought the 68 pretty much the way it looks, except for the wheels. It had stock hubcaps and whitewalls. It needed tires, so my brothers and I decided to upgrade the rolling stock!

jredline1984 12-03-2010 02:26 PM

You did an excellent job on the restore.

Damn fine choice too, I always thought they made the look of the car. I found a company who can modify a set for my so I can put them on my 80 after the 5 lug swap.

67nukeford 12-03-2010 02:28 PM

Yeah, those magnums made a HUGE difference in the look, especially with the BFG's. The 39 was done all in lead for bodywork. My stepdad taught me how to do it, and I never want to do it again!! A lot of work!

jredline1984 12-03-2010 02:32 PM

I honestly thing the BFG are the only tire that works with the look and feel of the wheel, lol.

I have seen lead done a handful of times, always wanted to learn as I hate body filler and try to shy away from it every chance I get.
