They have to be crisp and it seems the only time the red delicous are crisp is when in season around here anyway, the G-Smith are always crisp.

I can usually find good ones here. I'll have to try one of those Granny's sometime, never had one.

I like them but they are a little tart and not as sweet.

I need to change things up a little. Maybe I'll get a bag of pears next time. Haven't had a good pear in a while, and I love those.

Pat where do your apples come from out there??

I am right in the middle of apple country here in NY. They grow Empires, MacIntosh, Gsmiths, Golden Delecious, Cortlans, Jonagolds, Fuji, Honeycrisp, 20 oz. (they are 20oz apples, hence the name), Macoon, Red Delecious and many, many more.

Here is a link to on eof the places that we normally go to. They also have excellent cider and fresh homemade donuts on the weekends :9

Afternoon NY and all. Neil, we went by that apple place a couple of times. Wife bought a car just down the road .

Hey George. Neil, I'm not sure where the ones at the store come from, but we do get a lot from down in Nebraska City. They have a ton of apple orchards down there. That is where Arbor day originated from.

Oh really??? That place is about 15 minutes from home.

Pat, the reason why I asked is that my inlaws are from here and now live near Iowa City. They have made comments that the apples that they get out there are no wheres near as good as the ones from here. We have actually shipped them some apples from the place that I posted the link to during the holidays.
