Repaired the ever failing linkage from the outside drivers door handle to the latch. Rednecked the door latch post with some garden hose and vinyl tape to tighten up the junction (only temporary). Replaced the vacuum pull off for the choke. Finished the day with some beers and elbow grease on the front clip.

I also got a 80's spare tire carrier and removed the spare tire from the bed and installed it under the gas tank.

Could you post a picture of that spare tire setup? I'm looking to move mine under the bed but not sure how I'm going to make it work.

Got my new bedsides welded on. Now start doing bodywork on the doors.

Gas gauges are wildly inaccurate. Though I'd try some advice I found here and replace my engine to firewall ground. No help but I think it was time anyway....time to drop the tank.

Holy poop batman.
I never have that a second thought.

My new gas gas tank isn't registering on the gauge. It's a 2 tank setup. The in cab tank sending unit seems to work.

But thy new tank.... when in installed it, I made sure to use rubber strips on the mounting straps to isolate or from vibration. and the tank is painted.

I winder if that that thing is grounded at all?

Yeah you might need a ground strap from tank to frame.

Nothing too glamorous, but I decided to swap the water pump on my 460, and while I was in there, the power steering pump and the fuel pump.

Interesting note: fuel pumps don't always "go out" completely, there's a grey area between functioning and not. I started to have some fuel loss issues, at times there just "wasn't enough" to power it. Replaced the fuel pump as part of this project and it fired right up and had good power.

It's always something to check after you've done the obvious replacing of fuel filter/tuning carburetor.

Went to the DMV...sure hope El Toro Marrón appreciates it... I'm sure he does.
Now it's time for new fluids, a carb rebuild, and a tune-up so we can get thru emissions testing... feh.

The plug that goes into your rear sending unit should consist of two wires. one of those wires is a ground wire that should be attached to the frame.

Removed the windshield and replaced the gasket for the stainless trim. A mere 5 1/2 hour job for one person! My fingers are tired.Lol

Brown truck:
Pulled the headliner, drilled fifteen holes in the roof, mounted the new cab marker/clearance lamps.

Ran hot and ground leads, soldered-up the connectors, ran them down the A pillar.

Tested the lights, then reinstalled the headliner.

Wired the hot into the brown plug for accessory lights, and ran the neutral to ground
