Here are the top 20 excuses/comments by programmers upon discovering that their programs don’t work:

20. “That’s weird…”
19. “It’s never done that before.”
18. “It worked yesterday.”
17. “How is that possible?”
16. “It must be a hardware problem.”
15. “What did you type in wrong to get it to crash?”
14. “There is something funky in your data.”
13. “I haven’t touched that module in weeks!”
12. “You must have the wrong version.”
11. “It’s just some unlucky coincidence.”
10. “I can’t test everything!”
9. “THIS can’t be the source of THAT.”
8. “It works, but it hasn’t been tested.”
7. “Somebody must have changed my code.”
6. “Did you check for a virus on your system?”
5. “Even though it doesn’t work, how does it feel?
4. “You can’t use that version on your system.”
3. “Why do you want to do it that way?”
2. “Where were you when the program blew up?”

And the Number One excuse is:

1. “It works on my machine.”

I've never used any of those... }>

Happy Saturday Nebraska... Snow is cleared from the driveway, Home Depot run completed, truck has been washed, think I'll slack the rest of the day!

(or at least till the wife gets home and tells me I have more work to do) ;)

Morning Rob, things kinda quiet in here today,i still haven't cleaned my drive from last week, just park in the street, lol got another rollerskate to bid on tuesday,so looks like off to lincoln to pick it up wed

cowboywanabe 01-15-2011 12:16 PM

We got about 1/2 inch yesterday, than another 1/2 inch over night... hardly worth firing up the snow blower, but I needed to blow the crud away from the end of the driveway where the city plowed... Figured if I didn't get rid of the inch covering everything, it'll get packed down and turn to ice when the sun hits it.

That would work pretty well actually... however, the last time I saw my leaf blower, it was being loaded onto a United Van Lines moving truck in Omaha in 2007... For some strange reason, it never made it to the final destination... lol. Alot of our stuff went from the van right into storage for year while we rented a place and looked for another house. By the time we moved into the house, it was too late to file a claim for missing items...

Fortunately. all we have are little stick trees in the neighborhood, so all the leaves blow away without my assistance. :-X14
