I think some of them forget who is working for who.

That would be a good season. Word has it that if we don't have a busy fire season a few companies in the Heli industry will go under this year.

Zip 06-04-2009 01:33 AM

Hi Pete.

I guess it all depends on which industry you are employed in.

67nukeford 06-04-2009 07:34 AM

Good Morning and a happy thursday to you all in the BC chapter!

Well with so much tinder dry beetle kill trees in the forsests, they may all flourish this season, not go under.

Sadly I hope I am wrong.

Not because I want the heli industry to struggle, but the fires are just too destructive.
And i live in the country, and it could be my home gone next.

As Marty said that's a nice truck in the sig.

67nukeford 06-04-2009 12:56 PM

Thanks. that's my soon-to-be-started project truck. I have a nice 390 that will go into it, and I'm hoping for a 80's-ish five speed and transfer case, if I can adapt it to the 390.

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 12:57 PM

Sounds like a fun project Pat. Make sure you take lots of pictures to share with us!

I had one of that vintage a few years back. Only a 2wd though. I sure need a project. Wife says no room in the yard. Wife 1 - zip 0. The games continues.

You just need to drive her nuts, and then she'll tell you to get something to do!!

What year of Bronco Jason?

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 02:21 PM

I believe its a 67 with a 283, 4 speed, dana 44 front 9" rear. Manual steering as the power steering didn't come out until a little later.

Zip 06-04-2009 02:25 PM

If he wants to give it to me I can be up there with a trailer in no time.

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 02:27 PM

I am sure you could:), but he won't get rid of it until he dies, and I already have dibs on it in the will.

67nukeford 06-04-2009 02:28 PM

I love those old Broncos. I had an uncle in Colorado that had one around that year. Damn thing could climb a tree if needed!!

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 02:32 PM

Pat, are you planning on lifting your 67 or keeping the appearance original?

Saleenguy 06-04-2009 02:34 PM

I had a 66 and yes I do think they would climb trees. I always thought so.

It was not in very good shape. More rust than body. If you opened a door there was always the chance it might fall off. We were moving to Alberta and my wife said it aint going with us.

I guess that would make it Wife 2 - zip 0.

Tell her its way better than a new Mustang and blonde mistress....she may change her mind, we all need our toys. }>

I think I'm going to put a small lift on it, maybe an inch or so, but nothing radical. Make it ride like a Highboy maybe. I'll put some bigger tires and wheels on it, though.

Thanks Marty! How's things with you today?

Zip 06-04-2009 02:40 PM

Hey Marty. Hows things today.

I guess I shouldn't complain, I have it pretty good. She did let me have my Camaro a few years back.

Zip 06-04-2009 02:43 PM

Every time I find something that looks like a good project piece the price is normally off the wall. I am a fan of the 66 F100 there is a tire shop down the highway that has a bunch on stuff on the side lot. One being a 66. The guy selling it wants 2500 bucks for it.

J_E_Summit 06-04-2009 02:44 PM

What kind of shap is it in?

Afternoon Marty, how are things going?

Well my back is slowly getting better.
Work is too dang busy, but i guess its better than too slow.
The thick smoke in the air suck from all the fires, i feel badly for the poor people that lost their homes the most though.

How are you doing?

What year Chris? My first car was a very beat up 69 Z-28 back in 1981.

That is a problem. I got lucky, my mom happend to run across my 67 that some guy had to get rid of for the money, only paid $1000 for it. I drove it for two years daily, until the tranny shelled itself.

I like the 66's also.

It must be a sick feeling to know your house is going up in flames. Something that I never want to experience. I have lost enough from fire to last me a life time. I noticed the moon last night had a orange/red tinge to it.
