A mexican F-200 is just basicly, F-150 axles on a F-250 suspension etc... What is the model code for the Mexican F-200, anyone know? What it could be is a one off American built "Mexican F-200" type truck, with F-150 badges. Perhaps? Heck if I know, :D This thread is getting really interesting. ;) |
As far as I know, San Jose CA Assembly plant did not build stuff for the Mexican market.
This "F130" = built in San Jose |

However, making a one off for a special customer to the Mexican F-200 specs, well anything is possible I suppose. I'm just saying there is a precident of simular vehicles being made in mexico, to the one we are discussing. I have a feeling (could be wrong) that the history of this truck is going to surprise us. If we can get the information. ;) |
Could it be possible this was a concept truck? A few made and released to executives and then sold to the public. Just a thought. I guess anything is possible.
|
And it is a pretty big coincidence that this truck is like the Mexican F-200.
And the first Mexican F-200 was built in 1976. But only for mexico. And no F-200s were built in the USA... But the truck we are discussing is a 1976. A heck of a coincidence though... eh? |
Possibly F250 running gear under an F150 frame/body to get a reduced ride height with increased payload and towing capacity?
Or in 76 did the f250 and f150 4x2's have the same factory ride height? Justin |
No, the F-250 has a higher ride hight than the F-150.

David L. Lewis is the man to call at Greenfield Village, but I'm not sure he's still there. He has written many books on Ford history. At one time, he was the curator at the museum. He's a walking encyclopedia on Ford.

My 1976 F-130
I googled this topic a few weeks ago because I too own a F-130 as well. I purchased this truck a month ago from a person in Austin and it shows to be a F-150 on the side of the truck.
Here is the vin # F13YLC34264 and and the max GVWR is 06150 possibly showing it is built heavier duty? This truck was built in Mich. and shipped to a San Antonio deadership. I also, have the original window sticker showing all of this including the matching vin # as stated above. I am very curious about this truck and WildBills. Some other info on my truck: W.B. Color Type/GVW Body Trans. Axle 133 SP F-130 DB4 G 23J Tires on the original sticker show the size of 8.75 x 16.5E Let me know if anyone comes up with anything else on research. Thanks, David |
well how about that! first there was one, now it seems to be cloning itself!!! lol. i wonder how many others there are out there.this is getting interesting.

Here is the actual code chart showing the F series. Numberdummy had already said F130 doesn't exist.

Wow! I'm a numbers guy. I've never heard about this F130 thing until now. How unique! This has me fantastically confused. Must do research.

Welcome to the site David.
2nd one ? Nope, Actually if you look back you will note in an earlier post I mentioned there is a 2nd one in Alberta so yours make 3 first hand accounts of these trucks Patrick, That is the same kind of info I had and you will note that Code F13 fits nicely into the spot between F-100's & F150's..... as F14 to F19 was already complete Plus, the GVWR is 100 lbs higher than a regular F150. Therefore any new model would be F12 or F13. This still has to be the Number One 73-79 Topic of them all. |
Most definately a "stumping topic" I have never seen one. Makes you wonder, how many are out there.
