The document posted by Paul is the correct one and the Diesel Supplement is the one that is wrong. 328-00001 is what you want. Rotunda 328-00007 (Matthew's Water CoolCheck) is mainly for checking water quality when distilled is unavailable and the quality of water is in question.
On the attachment: 328-00001 is listed as Matthew's Water coolcheck. 3 test strip for hardness, chloride, and PH. 328-00008 is listed as the Antifreeze coolant ELC contamination kit. Tests coolant strength and corrosion inhibitor strength. In the diesel supplement, the only difference is 328-00001 is listed as 328-00007. Additionally, a quick search on google shows that 328-00001 is what is used with the coolant in the 6.0 and 6.4. So, which is correct? |

A quick summary on the how to and where to get was recently done by lexustbs. It can be found at the following link... https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...l#post10302454 |
What happened to the good old days when all we worried about was there was enough "water" in the radiator? :)

Thanks PS HD. What I was quoting was from the Ford Diesel Supplement. I also recall from this forum a bunch of guys getting the test strip test done, but then found out the dealer used the wrong strips because the new truck use OAT type antifreeze where the 6.0 and 6.4 did not.

Got mine tested yesterday. The service manager wasn't sure if the test kit had arrived and so checked with the diesel tech about it. It had arrived, so the diesel tech opened it up and used it on my truck. I was told that a few others had come in with the check coolant additive reminder but the kit had not been available, so I was the first one tested at my dealership. He checked the main loop and was getting ready to close things up when I asked about the secondary loop. He then checked that one too. He told me both checked good. He reset the warning light for me, with the manager looking over his shoulder.
He also told me he had not worked on any 6.7s so far. No problems reported to his knowledge. He was of the opinion that the engineers had done a good job designing and building this truck. |
Check Coolant Additive
My truck is saying to do this. Once checked, how do you reset the warning light? At the dealer?
Thanks |
