B3astr3l3as3d I really like that gauge cluster!

It is an awesome roadwarrior vehicle :-X22

When Hurricane Ike hit Houston in 2008, my '01 was an awesome mobile command center. Especially lifted 6 inches, the look on my Mom's face when I got to the Hospital where she was working when no one could get to it.....Priceless :D

Too funny, I just ordered the front lines, and that same rear screen and some other A/C/ parts.

Right now (knock on wood) the AC system in my Excursion is working pretty good. But I live in south central Texas, summer heat here is no joke.

AC in the car isn't a luxury IMHO here, it's a requirement. If the AC went out on every car I own (which would be kinda weird considering how many cars that is) I'd go rent a car with functioning AC until I got one of mine repaired. So I like to keep AC parts, and their part numbers, handy.

Thank you, looks like it costs a whopping $0.35 on rock auto (link below). The next time I make a rock auto purchase I'll probably add one in just to have it on the shelf as a ready standby, I'm sure I've spent 35 cents on dumber stuff.

After several attempts to flush the coolant to get the oil temps to acceptable numbers, the tear down started this week. Passenger side Head gasket is blown. No wonder my deltas were 30-35* :-X19

And the Driver side gasket is almost blown as well....

If I recall correctly, you recently purchased this Ex. Was it previously 'bulletproofed' or still stock? Just curious.

After 24 years and 518k finally ditched the cheapo steering damper and got a Bilstein in the mail today

Except for an EGR delete, the engine is completely stock. With this overhaul, it is getting all new parts including ARP head studs.

That's awesome getting thru when nobody else could!

I was thinking about how nice a motor home would be but nothing can really beat going down the road getting 18 mpg with a 7.3L lifted 4x4 Excursion doing a comfortable 70 mph! :9 What's amazing is the towns where folks have never seen an Excursion before.

I think I got the major pain in my ass leak fixed. Hpop res main gasket looks to be the issue. Weird as I put a new one in when I did all the work. It lasted 8 months. Here is to hoping the new one last longer. Have a weird clunk in the steering wheel now. So I have play sitting still about a inch. I have a redhead steering box 1 year old and a 1yr old new ujoint steering shaft.

Pick a part haul for today, got the notification that there was an excursion available today, went down there after work and it looks like it did not come available today as it had been picked pretty good for a few hours of being available, anyway here’s what $90 got me
