Happy Good Friday Everyone!

Chief: I rattlecanned the rear step bumper on my 74 Dentside and the wheels on my "02" Tundra. I used Duplicolor Graphite Grey 3 coats and clear coat on top of that. It looks better than I thought it would and is really holding up to my abusive nature. That Satin Black seems to be the way many are going and should look good. Good luck in your Run.

I checked out Grubb's build thread and it is a fantastic looking truck.

I think he is downplaying his talent so we do not ask him for help :)

I am doing the satin black because I hate the 20 year old faded, no wax or shine, long past prime, use to be grey paint.

The only bad of the truck is the floor boards and the bed is in need of some attention. Dang need a tail gate too. I am thinking of a copper color for the truck, Black interior and a wood bed kit. The only thing this truck is going to haul is my butt.

I have always been a candy red color guy, thought about keeping it grey because of it being that color when daddy was alive. Then thought about a red and grey 2 tone. I was looking at the power block show trucks and came across this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ij0ZE...eature=related

I had a 1970 Dodge Charger almost that color, we called my father in law Carl H so copperhead is close and the light came on. :)

Will a "74" Styleside tailgate fit? If so I have one that is rough but not beyond repair. It is straight "mostly" I ground out the rust spots and primed. The only thing I want off of it is the Chrome trim. Would that work for you?

ChiefM 04-06-2012 09:41 AM

I have no idea.

koolchange 04-06-2012 09:49 AM

I guess we could post a thread and ask those who are brighter about these things than I, which is most everyone.

I was reading somewhere about the interchangeability, I think they say it will mount and work but the body lines might not line up on certain years. I will research.

Sorry for the short last response, I had just got to typing when the boss said to call it a day.

Yep I kinda had the same scenario. I have a weekly Beating, I mean meeting with Ownership every Friday. It is my day to receive that Superego readjustment. ;)

Windsheild Wipers

Maybe there is somebody out there that can help me out. I have a 74 CS and when I turn the windsheild wipers on to the left they do not run all of the time. Do I have a bad switch or a bad motor??

Little help please.

Grubb, any more progress on your truck?

Nothing right at the moment. The wife and I have been a little more sick than normal with the pollen thing this year. We have a few outside projects to catch up with before I can start working on the truck again.

Thank you for the compliment, we surely appreciate that.

I will gladly assist anyone that needs my help, they just have to come to my tools (what few that I have).:)

I would say it is the switch, but I have been known to be wrong before. Besides, if the new switch doesn't fix the problem, you can always use the old one as a backup.

And we want to wish everyone a Happy Easter. We hope you all have fun with the children.:-wink

I was kidding ya, but your truck is looking great. I have tools, probably too many. I started collecting them when I worked at a car dealership. I got a present to myself after my Afghanistan deployment and my wife about had a stroke. I have 2 small boxes on the top and a side box now too. I could have bought 2 more trucks for what I have in just the tool boxes. The snap on man just loves me. My wife refuses to let me go into Sears... :)

Thats an awesome box !!!! You should have seen me and my father in law trying to get it in my shed. We had to use 2 sheets of 3/4 plywood and the front bumper of the Ford to get it up and into the shed. :) That was empty !!!!

Ok I do have a question, My father in law never drove the truck at night and I know why. I found where the left rear tail light was wired wrong, fixed that.

But when you turn on the headlights the guage lights will come on, then after a 5 or 6 minuites they go out and the headlights seem to be blinking. The headlights do not go completely out but they blink. What should I look for?

Could be a bad headlight switch,or bad ground. Hard to say with looking at it.
