they made a d44 with the same lockouts as a 60 i have a few of them close knuckle and a hp 44 with the same looking lockouts as my old 60 you would think all my trucks have a 60 not hateing but my close knuckel 44 and a 79 60 i have are the same lockouts just diff spline for the outer shaft

Well at least I'm not the only one that feels that way. I'm done pounding my head against the wall here, but you are correct in your previous post. The lockouts, as well as the hubs, do not interchange between any D44 and any D60 front. That includes the D44HD. The lockouts that were the genesis of this discussion, the factory ford spicer units that fit the D60, WILL NOT FIT A D44 or D44HD. Period, point blank. To say that you had them on a closed knuckle D44HD is false. They are both chrome plated with a red center dial and allen head screws, but they look COMPLETELY different. I don't see how anyone could argue that. I'm done waging battle with people that haver no clue. Believe what you want. I'll just keep collecting the 60's.
