Not sure if its mentioned in the write up this is also a good time to clean ur exhaust back pressure tube and inspect it for holes.

OK, got the parts. Got the fuel bowl off.

How in Hades do I get the HPOP off? I found 1 10mm bolt on the upper passenger side and removed that but the HPOP is still on tight. Please help me, soon.

There's a little football shaped plate on the front side of the HPOP reservoir (up by the radiator fan). There's a drive gear bolt under that cover that you need to remove.

I think there's also a bolt on the back side near the IPR. Did you get that one?

Yeah, the back one is a 10mm. I wasn't sure if I had to remove the front plate. I'll go do that now, but damn that motor is still hot after getting home from work. I gotta do it though cuz after I replace the plug, it has to cure for 24 hours.

Thanks

OK. got all the bolts I could find out. I cannot get the HPOP to break loose. ????

Did you remove both 10mm bolts? Did you remove the 18mm bolt holding the gear on the front of the pump(behind the little front cover held with two 8mm bolts)?

yep. That other bolt on the left side was a PITA. Now I gotta try and refill the pump but I have to wait 24 hours for the Loctite to cure. So tomorrow at 10:30pm I'll fill it and test it.

Where do I refill the HPOP?

There is an allen head on top of the HPOP remove that and you can refill it from there.

Thanks a bunch. You guys :-headbang

So, I know that the instructions say that the Loctite has to cure 24 hours before putting oil back in the HPOP. Is that gospel or is there a more acceptable time frame.

Cuz, this will put me at home all weekend and that means house work. YUCK!

Depends on if you feel lucky, or how do you feel about pulling the HPOP again next weekend to fix the leak because the loctite didn't dry?

If it were me, I'd give it the 24 hours.

PJ-Hunter 08-14-2010 11:25 AM

Will do. Just wondering. Just gonna go finish torquing bolts and bolt a couple other things up so I don't lose tiny parts

PJ-Hunter 08-14-2010 01:35 PM

Fudge!!! I need the HP fuel line o-rings and the dang dealer closed early and won't be open till Monday. The work ethic of some, I swear.

Wish there was a way for me to get them today or tomorrow.:-X09

The 24hrs is from LocTite. VERY important, especially on the non-serviceable plug.
