You know that pictures are taken last night. New pictures. Why you check here? Maybe you got Interested what ROT LOOK LIKE IT. When we drive around Michigan. We don't see superduty rot like our F250. Most are fender rot but not bed mount or cab rot. We found why it got rot since we drive most time in rain and dirt road. If you look under near gas door. You could see foam in inner and outer fender. That where stuff trap there and rot it. We try wash but no matter how you try it rot until you have rust proof. I hope Our new 2011 F250 don't rot in 4-5 years. |
fithwheel mounted in that thing?
Mine had one. Identical rust. http://stateofchaos.net/carnage/gears/IMG_0026.JPG http://stateofchaos.net/carnage/gears/IMG_0027.JPG http://stateofchaos.net/carnage/gears/IMG_0028.JPG http://stateofchaos.net/carnage/gears/IMG_0029.JPG |

I used to live in 4 season country with lot of salt on the roads. Cheap cars of the era would allow taking stuff from the trunk without opening the lid on cars as new as 3 years. |

No sir, my 05 already has a couple bubbles on the left fender. It's a design flaw where the support above the wheel joins the bed side at the pinch weld allowing moisture and crud to get trapped in there. A simple application of foam filler in that area when they're assembled could easily prevent it.
I'm getting tired of seeing Mil post these pics though... Multiple times, on multiple forums, every few months, isn't helping anybody... :-X15 Its definetley a flaw to see the least. Its complete bull if you ask me, I keep my truck as clean as can be year round with plenty of wax to go with. I repaired my 05 twice now. What is the fix?? Do we cut those pan outta there? I noticed that not all years have it. I'd love to know a long term fix for this....??:-wink |

Not enough snow out there...
It is only June 20. Our ski resort usually close April 20. I share driving there so my car makes about 5 runs a season over the snow. But with no salt the cars have no sign of corrosion even after 10 years. |

That strange. When I look our F250. Under bed floor it isn't rot expect mount frame rot.
Saw this and I offer $500 plus trade something. They still think. Believe or not. It cause by chemical. They work neon sign. 01 F250 5.4L with over 200K miles. http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l3...815_610775.jpg |
I have never seen any super dutys rusted like your pics.
What a shame... |
Rust on a newer truck is a sad thing. Ford has written the rust warranty in such a way that we'll never cash in on it.
Are the GM's and Dodges in your areas rusting the same way? |

Are the GM's and Dodges in your areas rusting the same way? Most time them aren't company trucks. Popular is Ford Superduty.:-drink Few chevys I see start rust on bed fender and bottom of cab. But frame rot first before body. Dodge very serious. Rot bumper, bottom cab and door rot. Bed fender is RARE because they have plastic inner fender under. I can remember when I was young back in 1999-2000 it wasn't lot salt compare now it tons of salt on road. That how all vehicles ROT. |
Look like It won't be fix with new bed floor:-banghead
