does anyone know if a leaking head gasket would cause it to shake so bad or a leaking intake manifold thanks for any advice im trying to avoid taking it to the dealer for a diagnosis :confused:

Head gasket? Never heard of that causing this, but I'm not the be-all end-all by any means. Only reason I said exhaust manifold earlier was because by the description you gave it sounded just like what a 74 F150 High-boy was doing that a friend of mine had. Had a 390 in it and he swore it was an exhaust leak that made it shake like that. It definitely did have an exhaust leak, you could hear it plain as day. We were never able to confirm whether the shake was that or something else, though. He sold the truck and that was that.

thanks i dont think it is a exhaust leak but now i have oil pan leak from shaking so bad i went with the advice on the injector could be bad on number 6 cylinder and tapped on it checked the connection and moved it around and then switched to the rear tank just for the heck of it to see what happens now it isnt shaking like it was but still idols rough so i think im in the rite place just not sure if i should buy injectors clean mine i know that side of the motor has always been loud you can hear the injectors working i will look in to getting some new injectors and see what happens thanks everybody for your advice i will post my findings and hopefully this does it

my rear tank pump took a $#!+ and my truck would run rough but then it would die, switch tanks and she'd fire right up

I wouldn't change any injectors until you are sure that is the problem. What you describe sounds like you may have more than one dead cylinder. You indicate that you have spark and compression on all the holes so it is likely all you're missing is fuel on those cylinders that are missing. Finding which cylinders are missing is the next step in finding the problem. I believe your 93 302 is batch fire, so injectors 1 4 5 8 fire together and 2 3 6 7 fire together. If you have a shorted injector that is overloading the injector driver then groups of injectors will stop firing making it run very rough, if at all! That is why I wanted you listen to the body of all the injectors with a stethoscope so you can tell which IF ANY injectors were not firing. You may just have a bad connection somewhere, or broken wire or...

Test, don't guess! Shotgun troubleshooting gets expensive quickly!

Speaking of testing, have you checked your fuel pressure?

Just trying to save you from buying expensive parts you may not need!

I will check my fuel pressure tommorow and buy a stethescope and listen to all the injectors thanks 90GTDAN for stopping from buying injectors i allready bought a egr valve that I diddnt need :-banghead

No sweat buddy, this kind of thing is hard to do over the net. Like I said, test and verify, eliminate one thing at a time. You can do it!
