Ford advertised these models as a Light Truck. All have 4.50" bolt pattern wheels (the only F Series truck to use this pattern), smaller brakes, different springs and shocks, different front suspension bits, and "Swiss Cheese" frames. There were only two engines available, the standard 300 I-6 or the optional 302 2V. In 1982, the awful 3.8 V6 engine replaced the 300 6. Only regular cabs were offered. Both 6 and 8 foot Styleside beds were available, as was a 6' Flareside bed. The accessory list was very limited. You won't find any styled aluminum or styled steel wheels, cuz Ford didn't offer them on F100's of this vintage. You can't use passenger cars wheels, because they won't clear the brake calipers. |
Oh man. No I did not know that. Thanks again for the info. I guess I will just be happy with the Ranger.
