Well everyone, apparantly my e-mail didn't go through properly, so I'll just post everything I said in the message on here....
Ok everyone here's everything I know. First of all, I must tell you I was wrong on the number of cubes, it's a 520 stroker, not a 514. The block is bored .030" over first of all. The crank is either a particular one ordered from Summit or, from what I understand, you can just grind your stock 460 crank down to 4.300" stroke. The rods have to be (brace yourselves)big block ch*vy 6.700" long Con Rods. Bearings are simple, Main bearing are stock 460 bearings and Rod bearings are standard big block ch*vy rod bearings. Piston's are custom pistons that can be ordered from Summit. They are Arias forged flat top designed for the 460 bore and big block ch*vy pins. From there on the rest of the motor is Pure and Proud Ford Motor Company parts. I do have accurate part number's as of October of 1999. Let me know if any of you wish to have exact part numbers. Good luck with this monster big block. Rob (TBirdGuy) |

Someone said the blocks were changed in 82...Reaaly? Hmmmmmm, didnt know that..Can anyone confirm that? I know the heads did in 88 ish, but not the block

Well, it was news to me that the block had been changed. Heads I was aware of, but not the block. Everyone I've ever talked to has never mentioned anything about the block changing any.

I had read that there was a slight difference in the deck height.
1968-70 10.300 inches 1970.5-71 10.310 inches 1972+ 10.322 inches when they killed the horses Also a change in head chamber size to complete the slaughter. Hope this helps, it is as acurate as I can be. Foxxx |
