Just an FYI... Cary's spacers, the ones he sells, are both hub and lug centric. :-X22

One of us is confused. Right now, it's me.

He may sell both hub and lug centric spacers, but a single spacer cannot be both at the same time. It's either hub centric, or it's lug centric.

If there's no flange, or lip, it is centered on the lugs, and puts a lot of stress on the studs.

Why can't it be both? He says they are... and no reason to think a good machine shop can't mill it to close tolerances and make it both hub and lug centric. In reality all spacers are lug centric but not all are spacers or wheels are hub centric. After all the centering on the wheel studs is a product of tapered seats and therefore centers it self... the hub centric-ness is a product of a correctly machined diameter for the OEM hub. Not to hard to do both with CAD... just more time and labor, therefore more expensive.

... just sayin'

I have checked everything in the front end, had wheels balanced, etc.. I believe my truck came with the wrong spacers and I am looking to replace them.

As far as towing and power I did not notice any difference. I tow a 24' enclosed car trailer. The tires ate E rated.

Hey Mike,
Your EX looks great!!
Just as a side note:
Since the wheels are pushed out further on the hub you can use the closed style center caps like the rear to cover the hub for a much cleaner look. I did this on mine since I never lock the hubs anyway lol.

Thanks Joe... that's exactly what I was hoping to see. :-X22

Those are the exact wheels I want to get after my suspension mods are complete (V-B code).

They aren't far from me, I may have to pick these up as an investment.
Price seems too good to pass up!

Joe... If I may ask, what size are the tires with your 8 spoke wheels? and what spacers did you use?

JoeDirt68 08-26-2013 10:56 AM

They definitely do not stick out.

They are expensive but worth every penny!!!
Don't cheap out on the spacers, these trucks are heavy!
I have had zero issues with them in the last 2+ years even
towing my 7,000lb travel trailer.
I re torque them 2-3x a year just to be safe.

Did you put spacers on the rear wheels as well? Rear tires look a bit more "inboard" than the front tires in your pic.... or is that just me seein' things:-X21

ycis 08-26-2013 11:35 AM

that also had me curious...is the spacer actually needed in the rear?
