To produce that high of egt and that low of boost doesn't make much sense to me. Have you double checked your gauges to make sure they are reading accurate? I just had an odd problem a few days ago similar (kind of). I had stupid high egts and low boost. It turned out to be a fuel flow problem. I changed the fuel filter and blew pressurized air back into the tank to clear out the screens in the tank. It's free to do and will only take a few minutes for you to do. Maybe about the same time you rebuilt the turbo you just happen to get a bad batch of fuel causing your flow to be hampered.

Compressor wheel is good. Yes no leaks even the orange boots. When I get on the interstate on the on ramp, empty, I can hit 1200 1250 with no problem and its still climbing but I don't let it go any higher.

How about the turbine? Slim chance I know just exhausting all options.

When you do that don't forget I take the fuel cap off so the air has somewhere to go. Listen for a big gulp type sound.

I was going to mention something about the wheels on the turbo but I figure having it apart two different times you would have went three it with a fine tooth comb by the second time just to be sure.

Do you have a noticeable power loss? Or are you relaying what the gauges are telling you. I'm wondering still if the screens are not your problem if the gauges are faulty.

Spun fine looked good. No chips or wear marks. Doesn't necessarily mean anything though I guess.

hey bigorange, your not the only one. When i rebuilt my turbo (2yrs ago), i've been seeing 10lbs at wot, as well. I even bought anther turbo (great member here), rebuilt it, and installed to no help. Still 10psi at wot. 14lbs with redline unhooked. Prior to this, that damn needle would peg 24psi with redline unhooked and top out at 18-ish when hooked....2 different turbos with 2 different wheels

Can here the turbo and everything spinning and I'm mostly going off what the gauges tell me but the power just doesn't seem to be what it used to be.

It sucks! Ever figure it out?

Timmyboy I had it spinning at 27psi until I realized it needed to be rebuilt.

Now could this be an intercooler problem? Or maybe the square head on the power steering pump wore a hole in the ds intercooler pipe? I'm just spit balling now

Pipe is fine still need to double check the intercooler.

I find something to be out of place, obviously. Now we have 2 trucks with the same exact problem after the same exact processes involved. Something is not adding up here. Having pulled turbos and you guys having pulled them before I feel the knowledge is there and went into both trucks. What throws me sideways is neither one of you claim to have any form of a leak in the system anywhere.

Did you delete the ebp? Gutting it and putting a plug in the open hole?
Once again I'm spit balling and ill need to ponder this further.

I wired mine open didn't delete it. I kept thinking my up pipes were leaking but can't see or hear anywhere it is leaking.

Have you hooked up a boost leak decter into the intake and verified no leaks?

I have it holds pressure.

Can you elaborate on the process you used? I'm not trying to say you did it wrong I just want to be sure. The system shouldn't hold pressure, it should bleed off.
