a run at it, you probably didn't do major bendy stuff inside. if it hydrolocked the motor while running, that's a whole nother thing. if it's running under it's own power, it's got more than enough energy to bend stuff, obviously. i hydrolocked mine idling when the egr cooler flooded the manifold. blew a head gasket, but nothing beyond that. it started up and ran afterwards. over to my mechanic, and we tested for combustion gases in the coolant, and while it doesn't show like the aromatics in gasoline, it shows. then it went to a ford dealership, supposedly very highly recommended for diesels, and the service writer told me that white smoke was normal, it was "regeneration". in a 2006 engine. a blithering idiot. get yourself a decent diesel mechanic. going thru a 6.0, there are a number of "small insignificant" items, that if not done correctly, will mean you are taking it apart... again. you don't want to be underwriting this cost. it's bad enough doing it once. |
