Howdy Ind. I has arrived (Sat. night). Hope to get legal (trade Mo. license for Ind., get Old Rusty inspected[?]/licensed this week. Brings me to my first question for you good folks here, do you have inspections, safety &/or smog? What year is the smog inspection required, in Misery Old Rusty was exempt due to his age ('91). What else do I need? Do I have to transfer my Mo. title to Ind. to get it registered? Just hope I don't get busted before I get legal, Misery plates expired end of Sept. Long story, Old Rusty died on me about Md-Sept. Had him in Tech School there getting resurrected till Mid-Dec. Just left there end of Dec. Didn't see any sense buying new plates for a couple weeks.

P.S.

Am in N.W. area, Merrillville, Crown Point.

P.P.S.

Forgot, no infernalnet where I'm staying right now. Using friend's computer. Hope to get it some time this week.

Howdy Gerry...How goes it my friend!

I always mean to ask you Gerry...your sig says you drive a 2006 F350...but from the picture it looks like the emblem on the front fender is a 2008 heritage...but your mirrors and front end are definitely not 2008's...did you swap out the emblem?...

You're right Joe, its an 06 but when the vents came out after 08 I got new emblems & grills from Tasca Ford & installed them properly, I like them on there, G

Morning Indiana and all of our IN friends!

Well I'm back out on the leftist coast...took me a couple of extra hours to get here last night...not sure why...but the flight leaving FW was a tad late...then at Detroit I could have made my original flight but because we were off schedule...there was no ground crew to usher us in...so the 5+ minutes we waited on them...well that cost me my connection...not to worry...Delta had me on the next flight and put me right back into first class...so other than getting here at 8pm vs. 5:30...all's good!

Hope everyone is easing back into the work mode...those long breaks always take their tolls!...

Looks like I've got a couple of posts to address next...

Have a great week everyone and thanks for posting in our chapter!

Joe.

There is NO inspection of ANY kind required in Indiana...so you have no worries...

As far as transferring your title...YES you will need to do that...but when you go to the DMV they will give you a "temporary" tag while all the paperwork goes thru...I'd suggest heading over there ASAP to avoid any hassles...

With the year of your truck...tags should be relatively inexpensive...newer vehicles cost a lot...but they really discount them as the vehicle gets older...so you shouldn't be surprised when you register your vehicle...

There is a great italian beef and hotdog place in Merriville called Portillo's...look it up...you will NOT be disappointed...they have all kinds of food...I have yet to have something I didn't like...if you are a big eater...get the BIG BEEF...you have three options when you order...dry, extra gravy or full immersion...that's the amount of gravy (juice) they put on...dry means what's on the beef when they pull it out of the pan...extra gravy means a laddle of gravy poured on...and full immersion...well...that's easy!...but the beef if AWESOME...as are everything else...the hotdogs are great, the polish sausage great...man I'm hungry!!!
