At this point I think Ford should okay the dealer putting on a part from another vendor or source (NAPA) and when the part is available let me make an appointment then for them to install it. Because it's under waranty and this is a FORD part with FORD "cast in iron" on the side of it they won't go there yet. :-arrgh My rant for the day.

Any FORD service departments have this part out there anywhere?

Build date and brake availability

Biggziff thanks for the name and phone number. Called them this morning and they did have a caliper but it is for an earlier build date 2011. (Last 8 of my VIN BEB56454) My truck was built in Dec 2010 and I am not sure when the different calipers/brake parts started going on but if you have a later build date truck you may find yourself waiting on brake parts if you need them. Biggziff's dealer did a national search while I was on the phone with him and no where, zipp nada, are they available or showing on a dealers shelf. The Ford Customer Service/Relationship Center says that the vendor is expecting to release and ship parts next week..:-huh...maybe!!??

Huh....Jeanie is usually the best...she can spout part numbers from memory on all kinds of stuff...I'm surprised she wasn't up on this one.

Well the big brown truck brought the needed parts for the little brown truck to the service department and I am back on the road. Nobody was expecting them including the Customer Service folks at Ford. Maybe their parts tracking and inventory needs a little fine tuning. Pete Harkness Ford and Fairway Ford both were as helpful as they could be and as soon as they had the parts they jumped right on the repair. Thanks again for everyone that helped with parts leads.:)
