highboy70: if you measure from top of axle to bottom or top of frame that would work too. then all we need to do is measure ours the same and take the difference. then we have how much it will raise the trucks suspension. add tires in the equation and we will know total lift height that we will have. thanks

the 72 would have drum brakes huh. any input would be nice

Depends on wether you like the bump or the dent.

72-bump
73-dent

There is no lift on a Highboy. They were all built that way.

i secon kahuna.. its not like our trucks were originally lower and the ford boys decided to raise them 4".. they just sit that much higher then the rest of the pack. but regardless of what you wana call it. there are many options weather you wana fix sagged springs or lift your highboy 13+" like me :) :) lol either way good luck

All,

I just put a 2 inch Skyjacker "softride" lift on my 70 Highboy F250(actually a 74 frame) and yes it does raise the truck 2 inches over stock(6 inches total). And the 4 inch kit will give you 8 inches total.

I'll let you know how the ride is as soon as I get the driveshafts and brakes straight (I switched to a 1976 Dana 44 with Disc brakes) I hope soon.

Hey buddy, any advice or suggestions on swapping a 76/77 Dana 44 onto my 73 highboy? Thanks.

Dude last post was over a decade ago, thread started 16 years ago. Even if these guys were still active (most aren't) you'd still be better off starting a new thread. You'd also be better off starting it in the section that matches your truck, which would be the "1973 - 1979 F-100 & Larger F-Series Trucks" forum.

Will bolt right up, only issue might be brakes. If you had disks originally you’ll be good if not your going to need the disk proportioning valve and some new brake lines.
