I used to run alot of bio in my 6.0, it loved it...I would run b-50 in the warmer months and B-20 in the colder months, I only had one filter gel in the winter other than that no issues and the truck ran great!!!!

You are a FAR braver man than I, but it definitely seems like you have an excellent handle on the biodiesel process. I was THIS close to buying a BioPro 150 but chickened out with the 6.4's fuel system's "reputation"...

I'd strenuously recommend several things to make sure it remains a pleasurable and event free experience...

Add Ford Fuel Treatment religiously...
Install an AirDogII (165 GPH/10 PSI fixed) fuel system and maintain it properly...
Install a Fumoto drain valve and do Blackstone oil analysis regularly...

You seem to be right on the money, and you got me rethinking the BioPro...

Sorry about the dealy in updates been busy with work, i have used over 700 gallons of bio diesel with no problems in my truck alone. Some of our older 6.5 chevy diesels have had issues with which we have upgraded degraded hoses. I have been blending 50/50 but my supplies ran low in august so i havent ran it for a few months, here soon i should have time to persue new sources. My good sources recently changed to creamy oil which i cant use. But i have good sources for some new oil. Overal i have lost about 1.5 MPG using Bio VS Diesel. My operating cost are 1.40 per gallon so i still feel im saving alot.

What were the results of your engine oil analysis? I read a article in biodiesel magazine dated April 15, 2008 on fuel dilution in the new VW diesels. When running B5 for 10,000 miles they see fuel dilution of 45% which is still acceptable, but when switching to B10 and running 10,000 miles the oil dilution surpassed 50%

Would it be possible to post your fuel analysis results? Any more news on the use of Biodiesel in your truck? I would like to do the same but am concerned about fuel dilution.

You can't run bio with the DPF on, or you can, up to 5%.

I will be getting a DPF delete,exhaust and tuner. I've read all the threads on running bio in a 6.4L truck but have not seen much information regarding fuel dilution hence the question.

the reason the 6.4 makes oil is because of the emission crap. Once that's removed, I'd think any fuel dilution would be a similar amount to other engines on bio.

Oil dilution was not an issue, i am trying to find the sample along with my Bio diesel astm testing data ,at that we where using cat sos for all our oil fluid sampling we now use Blackstone for our fleet. Are u saying a 45% increase or actual 45% dilution which seems relay high. I was using B50-B75 and never saw anything greater than what i saw running normal diesel.

As for updates, we have slowed down allot and i should have time to presue WVO again to get the process rolling again, its not easy to tend the processor,find the good oil sources, collect oil and juggle working 10-12 hrs during the day when our work is busy, the processor needs about 8.5 hours of tending per batch, not at once but thru all the phases. You don't have a babysit it all that time but you need to be able to check up on it especially during the washing and drying process in case issues arise.

Any updates? I have been running B-20 or so for the last couple of months with no ill results, I haven't really been checking my mileage seeing as I'm deleted and tuned with 35's. I think its very consistent with what I get on pump fuel.

Can no longer afford B100 over $6.00 Gallon ! B50 over $5.00 Gallon!

Wow!!! I pay $3.64 for B-99 and it's $3.81 for B-20.

No biofuel available here..
