The numbers differ from 5 to 10 in horse and torque, but the general numbers for the EFI are;
145 horse @ 3,400 RPM 260 ft/lbs @ 2,000 RPM Give or take 5 lbs or horse. I've heard the carb'd 300's make their torque even lower. Not a dumb question, by the way. =) |
My uncle has an old 300 in my Grandma's garage I think . It's been there as long I can remember . I posted this ? in the wrong spot I guess but I baught a 78' f150 the vin shows it's supposed to have the 300 which someone swaped to a 302 . From what they have alrsdy said I need to decide on more top end speed with the 302 or the torque and pulling power of the I/6 .

If you have to decide on top end or low end then you probably need a 351 or larger.

The truck has 35" tires -4"s of lift they keep the 4spd trans I was thinking with going with a fuel injected 302 or the 351 carb.or not

I have access to 1ton diesal so I'm sure the truck not worth setting it back to original there abouts .
