Boy, if you guys really want to have some snow, move up in my area. Last year we had a 2-3 day stretch were it snowed off and on and by the time it stopped we had almost 2 feet of the white stuff on the ground. So far this year I have had around a foot or so at the house, all of it has melted except for places that are in the shade. Looks like we will be starting to get some more snow tomorrow or Friday

Sounds like Neil is inviting us up for a weekend of fun

Hello Everyone

Did someone say SNOW with out Big Ken being here? you know how much he loves it

I remember that storm very well...I had evicted tenants from my house two weeks before that. I hired a guy to plow the driveway...aptly described as the "Driveway From Hell"...about 250' long...very steep...and at the top...you turned and it was steeper for the last 80'!!! Well...to make a long story short...over 30" of snow fell...the guy never showed to plow the driveway!!! There was over 7' of snow piled at the bottom of the drive...I was able to use a truck to break open the entrance. Had to use a snowblower for the rest...my 8 horse Honda performed admirably...but...it took about 6 hours!!!

Less than a week later...we got another 20"!!!

Down near the coast in DE, we didn't have that much.

When we had that storm Chrissy and I got married the day before, We lived in Elkton at the time and got 28 inches of snow.

Sold the place...the new owner bought a plow truck...the only way to do the driveway is from the top down if there's more than a few inches of snow. The house is in a snow belt that generally gets more snow than just 8 miles west. The first storm only dumped 21" at my house!!! :)

The last real nasty storm that I remember was in March 1993. It started on a Saturday and I was young a foolish. The county fire coordinator asked for all of the departments to have crews in house due to the amount of snow that was forecasted. I figured that we would not get hit too bad so I headed for the fire hall. A few other guys stopped in and had with them sleeping bags and food to ride the storm out. I went to head home late in the afternoon and could not get home due to the roads being impassable. Headed back for the hall and stayed the night. If we had a call, we would have needed a snowplow in front of us so that we could get around. I finally got home around 9 a.m Sunday after following a town plow home as he was clearing the road for the first time.

Now you remember how I said that we would not get a lot of snow????? We ended up getting about 40" out of that sucker.... The town highway had to bring out the payloaders to push the snow banks back at the corners so that you could see. It was like you were driving in a tunnel of white. Some of the neighboring towns ended up putting the v-plows on the trucks just so that they could open some of the roads up.
