Replaced the solenoid on the 90 F150 after it left dad in a parking lot broken down. Brand new solenoid and a rescheduled doctors appointment and he was good to go oh and help from the neighbor since he forgot the tools here.

Hopefully this will fix the slow start in the cold.

Solenoid definatly helped the slow start in the cold.
Now hopefully we won't have any more problems with this one for a while.

Got the last bit of the second wheel arch welded up, now onto the last 2 patch panels and it'll be ready for a bit of bodyfiller and paint.

In other news, I discovered the miracle tool called a Mother's brand Power Ball.

This is the results:

Wheel off the truck and cleaned, ready for the Mother's Mag & Aluminum Polish and the Power Ball.

The difference is...amazing

Those look a lot better! If you want to put some elbow work in with wet sanding/polishing with rouge and whatnot, let me know. I did that to my 17s two years ago and they came out great. Lotta work though...

Man.. .this wheel look like the new one.

You can apply clear varnish to keep with this brightness..

We found a very nice chrome bumper to replace the painted one on Lafawnduh (daughter's truck's name) right up the road. Not a dent or scratch but the center where the ball would go could stand a little paint. We wanted a smooth non-step for this truck but the price of this bumper was too good to pass up.

Wow, I'm jealous of that bumper! I really want to replace my old nasty faded painted bumper with a chrome one like that! If I can't find a decent chrome one at a decent price I am contemplating repainting mine to match the new body color when I repaint the whole truck. I can't decide how that would look.

Anyway, keep up the good work on Lafawnduh!

I had a great evening on my truck! I got the ecm computer replaced. It was a little more of an acrobatic experience than I thought it would be, but in the end the old one came out and the new went in.

I am thrilled to say that replacing the computer did the trick! My truck runs again for the first time in a month and a half!! Woo hoo!

I also replaced my broken shifter knob with a nice new one and topped off the power steering fluid.

Then I took her for a celebratory spin around the neighborhood. It's been a long road the last few weeks with troubleshooting the no start problem, dealing with AAA braking the steering gear, etc. So it felt great to finally be able start, steer, and drive my truck again!!

This bumper was on a 89 model work truck that was pretty thrashed. It was less than 10 minutes from the house. Amazing how the bumper looks compared to the rest of the truck, it is just one of the rare ones that never hit anything. Guy already had it off and even carried it to my truck for me.

I will be painting the one on my F350 soon and will do a thread on it.

Your idea about body color bumpers can look really good on a truck that has more modern type touches and accessories.

Cool! I look forward to seeing how the painted one turns out.

Very cool bumber. You can clear that rusty in the hole and cover it with a chrome ball joint.. What about it?

ponykilr 01-23-2015 07:01 AM

I think since we are putting a reciever type hitch on it (got it from same guy as bumper) that I will cut a piece of aluminum diamond tread to epoxy there. That will give my 5'2" tall daughter a good place to step LOL
