I'll give you $400 for it! :D

oldbird1965 04-10-2013 10:29 PM

I'm lucky if I get a square of cement to lay on instead of rocks to lay on. I'll have to start hiring out my work, I'll stop at Mike's and get a few things done and then straight north to Darin's for a few more things. Then head east and Gabe will fix me up with some mods then on to Nate's and Todd's for some more. Bill, your going to have to fix up all their screw ups and make it perfect. Then up to Michigan and let Talyn check it all for mistakes, LOL If I missed anybody, I'm sorry, its been a really long day :-X06

stainlessstroker95 04-10-2013 11:19 PM

If im at my house, i usely straddle the side walk or pull on to the patio haha.

Skip1970 04-10-2013 11:41 PM

I got a 1800 sq ft shop with really high ceilings and cant even work in there when its really cold out because it so darn hard to heat ( below 0f anyhow) thats whats bad about a big shop, so im gonna build another small one maybe 20x 30 to use in winter with only 10 foot ceilings

I feel your pain Gabe. I came from a 1 car that was packed with my co tractor tools. Having a place with a shop or a place where I could build a shop was a must when we went looking for houses. This place kind of fell into our laps. It is soooooo nice having some room. I just got a job hanging a bunch of cabinets for a customer. They are the assemble type. I spent the early part of the week building them in the shop. Never would have been able to do that before!

stainlessstroker95 04-11-2013 01:15 AM

I passed our perfect house up a couple years ago but i just wasnt ready cause money was a little tight then. Now we cant hardly find any thing in our area. Probably cause im to picky haha, and cause we need land with it for our horses.

LOL! Good one Alex!

Very nice find Mike. :-X22

My heated part of the shop is about 1800 sq ft, and the cold storage is 1400 on one side, and 1200 on the other side. It's only got 10'8 ceiling height, so it heats nice, but is too short for a lift without some serious work. My back and shoulders are not very good, so it is almost better for me to roll around on a creeper. Standing working over my head really bothers me anymore. If I just didn't have to get up I'd be good. There are a few things I'd like to have a lift for, someday maybe. If I poured concrete on the 1400 sqft side a lift would work in there. It has higher ceilings. I'd have to insulate and heat that too though, so that probably won't happen. It took me and dad a lot of years, lots of work, and enough money already to get our shop to this point.

FI460 04-11-2013 11:39 AM

When I was a kid my grandpas version of a lift was 4 railroad ties down the bank. 2 of them were uprights and 2 of them were horizontal and he drove his rigs onto them then walked down the bank...

Is that a threat? or are you just asking for your truck to be missing the powertrain and be sitting on blocks tomorrow morning?

Come on Todd! I don't need to see any more of Bill's photo's! BTW, did you ever get anything figured out on your batteries?

Here's a good picture of the heavy snow we got. This is one of Dad's garages, it used to be our shop for MANY years.

Never did. They're still giving me the run around. Truck struts fine now that it's warmed up

Skip1970 04-12-2013 01:50 PM

what kinda tree is that planted in the yard?

427 fordman 04-12-2013 02:21 PM

No idea on the tree. Parents planted the them, I don't know trees. We got about 15 inches of snow. In Rapid City which is just east of the hills a little ways where Glenn goes got 28 inches. That's the most they've ever gotten in one storm. The hills gets that much quite often, but never down in the city.

Your truck doesn't strut unless you show us a video of it struting Todd!
