My new tires turned out to be an inch taller than the old ones, which has created a slight rubbing issue on my bumper. I'll have to either lift more or move my bumper out. Leaning towards more lift.

Now I have no CEL's again, and nothing to do.

Wow. Didn't realize your clearance was that close before. Just space the bumper until you do all the axle, 4x4, & lift stuff.

It really wasn't all that close before. The of brand tires just came in closer to 32s than 33s. So now I get a very slight rub on the bumper at certain spots. Everyone I know is telling me to just run a body lift until I do my 4x4 stuff. That would give me tons of clearance but I'm not sure I want to go that route. If I wasn't trying to buy a house I'd just buy the solid axle stuff now. I hate having money I can't spend.

I'm rubbing those too. This isn't at full lock and it's only in certain corners when there's body roll. I'm not concerned with the radius arms, that's only at super slow speeds and doesn't hurt anything.

What happened to your truck to end up doing this to it?

That's amazing!

I've done one F250 before but usually I have the pieces put in professionally. I cannot justify the cost of pro's on a truck like this so I'm in DIY mode here. Besides, practice makes perfect. If it was a $30K vehicle I wouldn't have the cojones to cut into it!
Like this one. http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1.../070804004.jpg http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a1...sc/theclip.jpg |
Let's see. My new work truck needed some love so here is the list I accomplished today
Installed new exhaust manifolds Installed new up pipes and gaskets Inspected and reinstalled turbo Replaced front main seal installed new pilot bearing and throwout bearing(for rebuilt tranny) resurfaced flywheel and reinstalled New axle seals on the rearend Inspected and cleaned Brakes on the rearend Inspected frontend (turns out I need a u joint and ball joints) Service on the welder service on the air compressor removed and cleaned oil cooler, reseal and install tomorrow Tomorrow I should have her back on the road...maybe. |
My grandfather blew a power steering fitting early this morning in his oldest business truck on the way to pick up a load. He dealt with no PS on the way back, and I got a new pressure line to put on it and it's good to go. Easy 15 minute fix.
It's a '96 F-250 7.3 Powerstroke. Guess it was time for that fitting to go after 18 years and 317k miles. https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ctureid=144874 https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/p...ctureid=144764 |

When I put 33's on my 95 I spaced it out with 4washers on each bolt. Gave me about 1/2" and that's all I needed. |
