just for a reference i had a 300-6/np435 (granny low 4 speed). 4.10 gears and 33's and at 65 i was running close to 3000rpms. so i would say hi issue was more the tranny. it would be like having a C6 automatic.

with normal driving the 5 speed may hold up, towing is probably ok also just be sure not to tow in 5th gear unless its flat level ground. I would use that tranny but keep an eye out for a zf 5 speed. this is an awesome tranny, has a granny low first like the old 4 speeds but also has the OD 5th gear for hwy driving. plus its bullet proof like the old 4 speeds. its rated to handle 400lbs of torque. you can find this tranny in F250/f350's running either a 300-6,5.0 or 5.8

hey i have a few more questions if you don't mind. i got the 5spd in my half ton which is the mazda 5spd i think. how long do you think that tranny will hold up on that 351 with normal driving and hauling no off roading nothing hardcore. and i could get the 4spd tranny that ford put in the half ton the type with Low 1st gear would that last a lot longer than the 5 spd? and my friends truck would have to be around 2500 rpms to go 55mph is that part of the tranny or all gears i think it was all gears but i just need to be sure mine has 3 55's would it run the 4 spd ok ? thanks again

you will need v8 frame mounts and yes grab the motor mounts although new ones should only cost around $20 max so if they are shot or look worn just buy new. yes the ecu and harness should work. what tranny did the van have? C6 is good and e4od would work but may throw a tranny not found code but wont cause driveability issues. Y pipe should also work. you will be far happier with this swap. also consider replacing the t stat with a 195* one and other parts like water pump etc.. just to save ya. much easier to replace while motor is out.
