    i just resized, you did this to a 4x4 and i will be doing it to a 2x4, but same basic principle, only i don't have a proportioning valve( except for the frame mounted stock thing

    i can get the booster and mc from autozone for $106 +($40 core) and my pedal braket combo will work, don't think i will be doing calipers does your thread have the part number for the earl's brake lines( and do you recommend these?)

    oh ok, thanks for the info my truck is actualy manual but am going to power soon so i figured cut out the middle man and go straight for the f350 upgrade, the braket i have is off a 77 f150( so a 77 f350 booster and mc kit should work or should i do a dif year) i will probably do rear brakes eventually so the wheel clys might get changed then, were you useing factory/ factory style brake hose, and where would i go for the ss upgrade on that?

    I had you mixed up with a guy with a F-250.

    You'll need the correct style F-350 booster / MC to match your booster mounting. Some years they just bolted to the firewall, some used the bracket and bell crank. Whatever is on your truck's firewall.

    Your '73 F100 uses same calipers as my '77 F150 so you can gain the same increase in piston size with the '78-'79 Thunderbird calipers as I did. That is a big part of the increase but some have been happy without.

    Do look close at my hose install .... I had some issues there which I will not have when I install the SS braided hoses. I had to do some work with a dremel tool, not so with the SS braided lines.

    F350 rear wheel cyl are optional.

    i'm doing it to a 73 f100 but my bracket it a 77, so I all I need is the mc/booster combo, adapters for the lines, move the lines to the other side, would you recommend using the f350 wheel cyl or will my f100s do fine? do I need to buy a proportioning valve?, thanks for the info, and does the above list of things look good?

    Well, it's not exactly "mine", and it initially was to improve braking on a F-150.

    Your truck already has dual piston front calipers. If I were doing a F-250 I'd start just swapping in the same year F-350 booster and master cylinder but you may have to change a brake line fitting or use an adapter at the master cylinder ports. The MC / Booster is cheaper as a "combo".

    You may even be able to reuse yours.

    I used an adapter which in my case, I had to modify slightly as described in my thread.

    F-150 and F-250 single piston calipers are same 73 mm piston ... 6.48 square inches.

    F-250 dual piston calipers and F-350 calipers are same with two 56 mm pistons each ... 7.50 square inches total.

    I swapped my calipers to T-Bird calipers to increase area, they fit my brackets, and have 79 mm pistons ... 7.51 square inches.

    I'd swap booster and MC as a combo.
