Hello PawPaw. I have a question I hope you can help me with. I have the Ford Modified ELM327 Bluetooth dongle. My question is? I should be able to plug it in to the OBD port, red light comes on and my Ipad/Iphones should pick up the Bluetooth signal, correct? I have 2 Iphones & 1 Ipad devices and none of them including my Laptop will recognize a Bluetooth connection from the dongle. I have a feeling the dongle is not functioning properly, but since I've never used one before, I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong here. Thank you in advance.

I've got a problem with a 1994 ford 4.0 where there is proper fuel pressure, good spark, runs like a champ on ether but the injectors aren't firing. It ran great for a few days after purchase then sputtered and died. Restarted drove home with no issues at all, parked and it never started again (until starting fluid was used, then it runs great). There is 12v on both wires of the injector harness, well just over 11v. What I'm not sure if the CKP could cause this or if the PCM is the core cause of this randomness.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey i got a 94 Ranger 2.3L and im in trouble man its leaking 2qts. a week i think it was the oil pressure sending unit so i replaced it just waiting on results. I did clean the throttle body with break cleaner(thought it would be ok). I just want the CEL off, getting 172, and something along the lines of could not maintain idle speed 400somthing. can it be a bad PCV?

hey pawpaw, if you check out my post and threads about my transmission and speedo not working right, you ll see what i have done and thought was fixed only problem would come back,,, well i have found the problem thanks to a youtube video,,,and it is fixed now,,,

the problem is the fusible links,,, and after talking with a mechanic,he said that they would run the bill up replaceing gem pcm or other stuff but would do replace the fusible links too, which was all that was wrong to start with,,, i replced mine and now everything works and even the a/c is colder,,, so thanks for helping me and i hope this info will help some one else,,,

hi pawpaw. please can you tell me which elm327 your using,is it bluetooth, or usb and can it read tranny code through you use a laptop? my b3000 i bought on boxing day had p0720 up(oss circuit failure) and was in limp. now i have sorted that out but its still not 100% and starts to flash o/d light after 20 mins. i cant get any codes up with my autel reader, but i think theres some codes stored deeper, as im having the odd issue as well with pats not recognising the transponder. i remove the key and put it straight back in, and away we go? i think the GEM is acting up, as the speedo went berserk on the last owner. sorry for the long message. thanks. steve.

Message relates to a earlier thread on a parasitic draw issue I had on a '94 Ranger 3.0. I posted a reply on that thread with an update. Not sure how to get that thread back in circulation to see if anyone has any ideas for a solution. Both you and wtroger had commented previously. Looks like I need all the help I can get.

Thanks for the help Pawpaw, between you and hank85713 I think my truck will be up and running soon. Any questions on older trucks I can deal with but these new computer ran vehicles just stump me. LOL

Hi PawPaw, Just wanted to say hi. I don't know why I took you for X-Navy, just figured you we're. My best friend and piloting mentor was X-Navy guy named Bill Melly, and we both owned Experimental Thorp T-18's and had lots of adventures. He has passed on now, but what he gave me was memories that would last a lifetime. I hope your health is good and you go on a long time. I can clearly see how valuable you are to this forum, and probably to everyone that knows you. Best regards, Don

Hello, pawpaw, long time no see. Truck's been doing OK until I replaced the engine. Would appreciate it if you would visit this link and provide your thoughts.

I'm stumped and if I wish to try a different motor, I only have 4 weeks left on the warranty.

Hi pawpaw. I read your posts in the "98 Ranger 2.5L...throttle sticking" forum, and I was hoping you can help solve my problem. My 98 2.5 XLT is experiencing the same symptoms... (High revving when decelerating in neutral or clutch pressed).. Someone posted a potential solution: reprogramming the PCM. Do you know if this is actually the way to solve the problem? Have you heard of this being effective? Ive tried cleaing the MAF, replacing the IAC, replacing the pcv valve, and cleaning the throttle body... no luck. Also, this is kind of a dumb question, but does this model have a throttle position sensor?
