Hey, I see you had a lot of input on some others there were rebuilding 88-89 460's. I'm thinking about pulling ours out of the seldom used dump truck. It's putting oil in the air cleaner, and not a little either, dizzy is stuck in the block, and the exhaust manifolds are cracked and some of the bolts are broken off in the head.

I don't want to build something nice out of this, just rings, pistons, bearing and seals, may be the oil pump. I see talk of cams, etc. I don't want to go there unless the machine shops says it's awful. I'll have the clean and flux the block and look over the valves.

In doing a fast rebuild of this engine, am I building a bomb? I'm used to Cat Diesels, they can take a lot more abuse, partial rebuilds than I'm assuming this engine can.

    Thanks so much,
