    I used the hangers off the Ranger; I just centered the axle, measured then drilled holes. I used clamps to hold the springs on while I put some weight on them. I only marked one side like this then removed everything and used the frame to measeure the other side in case it was off then both sides would be the same. They should work on the 53 since both frames are the same the springs are just longer. In the back I didn't have any room to go up/down the hangers just did fit. I think I have some close-up in one of my galleries on the hangers bolted to the frame.

    Its a Hurst. installed by the PO. Looks great, the center section of the knob depresses for the detent. It's a bit sloppy in the feel for which gear you are in, but I haven't checked the linkage to see if it's the install or the shifter. truck has a lot of high dollar parts that were not installed to my satisfaction.
