    I have another question.
The air cleaner you have pictured next to your name, what did that come out of?
I have one in this truck, and i need a new filter for it, and the one i bought was to small.

I would go ahead and just replace the float. The float's week spot is where the two halves are soldered together; that's usually where they seep full of gas and sink. If yours requires more patch work; it's more prone to failure and I would just replace.

The float is another possibility. Here are the main reasons the gas gauge doesn't work, in order of most common to least common:

    1) Ground out at the rear frame is bad - no current through the sending unit and the gauge, so the needle falls all the way to the left (past EMPTY).
    2) Bad rheostat (sending unit reads the wrong resistance).
    3) Pin hole in float. The float sinks to the bottom of the tank and the gauge permanently reads EMPTY.

10 ohms for FULL (float all the way up), 70 ohms for EMPTY (float all the way down).

Its a 79 f150 custom, and it has the 3 spoke sport wheel.
My turn signals aren't canceling, so i found I'm missing the cam signal stop thing.
I just need to see a pic or illustration on how it mounts on the column, and i think I'm missing a spring to, but not sure on that.
My signal switch is all good, i just need that part to turn it off when turning.
    Thanks again for your help.

    First off, welcome to FTE.
I went to the parts catalog to download the image, that's when I found out this illustration is missing. My illustrations for that section end at page 26.
What are you working on? Maybe my book and Bill's are different. I've seen that before.
