    I see you have installed a jag IFS & IRS in your 50 F1.

    I am preparing to do the same thing. Was hoping you could give some pointers or suggestions from your experience. My truck is also a 50 F1, I have removed the IFS & IRS from a 85 XJS to install in my F1.

    The Truck is stripped to the frame, no body, no running gear, so I wont have fenders to gauge by, also not sure how to figure my height. I want it to be pretty low but still drivable. It will most likely end up with a 5.0 ford small block in it.

    Also, the XJS IRS has 4 shocks and coils, is this going to be too stiff for the trucks rear end? It looks like you only used 2.

    Any advice you could throw at me would be much appreciated!
    I am inpired by your pictures of your jag suspension install.

    I know ur name isn't willard, but I can't remember your real name so for now its willard! anyway...I got my jag ifs welded in, my frame boxed(only in the front at the moment) now I am working on engine mounts. I have a few pics in my albums. its a little different than what everybody else has done,at least from what I have seen on here. I am real happy with how it turned out! I have been scrathing my head over these engine mounts and finally got a good idea how I want to do it. now its fabrication time...for me it takes forever to feel next battle is gonna be the steering linkage-steering column..thats gonna be fun too...

    Up until a recent car show I was just gonna soft mount it and I still probably will but I have entertained the thought of welding it or manufacturing brackets to get it tighter to the frame. I want it low but not too low as to be draggin the ground on every bump.

    Let me see if I can find the measurements I wrote down in my notes and I'll get back to you. Are you going to soft mount it or weld it. RUSTY

    Hi Rusty50 F1, I need any measurements to properly put the JAG IFS in the right location forward to back. I don't have any fenders right now so I can't even guess if it will put the tires in the right spot in the wheelwells. So whatever measurements from something like certain holes in the frame to maybe the back edge of the metallastic mounting points. just whatever is a good point to another good point.

    Another member mentioned yo might have some parts or even a donor cab(?). Because I am quartering the roof, I am looking for soem pieces that I can use for lengthening the top of the door after chopping it the door (I know I can use the piece chopping the door frame but its a little undersize) and pieces from where the drip rail is to fill it in from lengthening the roof. I am chopping 3" outta the top. I hope that makes sense. I can fab all those pieces out of sheet metal but if I could get the original to fill in then I just have to cut strips to fill in the top of the roof. I am in Gilbert,Az. I dont think i am going to need too wide of a piece to fill in where the drip rail is and form the door chop. Maybe 2" (?). I hope I am explaining this so you understand what I am after. Thanks for getting back to me.

    Rusty first thanks for your photo on your chop. Looks bitchen! Getting ready to do the same thing. Any tips would be helpful. Also wondered if you had any pieces left from donor doors (or cab!) that I can use to fill in the gap on the door after chopping it. 2 or 3 " would be great. if you got em let me know what you want for em.
