    Hi Dave,
I'm in Winnipeg, moved here from out your way. Currently I am building a 1987 f-250 and have changed a few things. Used a zf5 and 1356 behind a 7.3. Everything went smooth except the glow plug harness. I see the subject seems to be beat to death but I still haven't found the answer. My 87 6.9 harness has 8 wires. The 92 7.3 has 12. The two larger gauge clearly go together. ( I am just splicing two harnesses together so it unpluggs easily) but I would really benefit from a pin out of the two. Any input you can offer me is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Hey Dave, If you are still active with the Forum I have a few questions about the piston you picked and the Rods. Also how is your engine running.

A while back you had a post about the glowplugs on 6.9idi..
    Watch the glow plug light.
If it comes on while driving your glow plugs are short for this world.

well im having that problem and have no clue where abouts to start to fix it and winter is coming so i will be requiring them to be working. My wait to start light will come on when i turn ignition and click off 10 seconds later or until i crank but then will come back on randomly when im driving. What do I have to do to get them fixed up? and ps just bought the truck, a 1983 f250 with the 6.9 and only 61thousand origonal.

I saw that you had also put effort into compiling the super tune w/glow plugs thread. I was thinking maybe it could get actually completed (and possibly progress) if it was done in a wiki, where more than one person could edit it. Do you know if that would be ok with I have one in a personal wiki but it is not available for public viewing. I also could put it in a website. Thoughts? I'd like to see it done, it's a very engaging idea and I think there's people here who could put the knowledge to use and refine it if there was a clearer path to doing so.

    Dear sir,
My name is Lars Hansen and I have a 1985 F-250 with a 6.9L IDI. I'm looking at building it into a trail monster, I have a set of toploading rockwell 5ton axles that are going under it to handle a set of 52"+ sized tires, and an exo cage and dove tail flatbed to take care of roll protection. However I know I'm going to need a lot more power than a tired out 6.9 can provide. Where can I source parts? Specifically looking to help it breathe better with some head mods, a better turbo, (it has an old Banks non-wastegated) intake manifold, and a cam. Also need to help the bottom end hold onto the boost, and be able to get enough fuel into the mix. I just want to build something that you don't see every day. Any advice you can give me is much appreciated,

    Hi Dave

Got a 1986 F250 6.9 diesel. Am based in UK and need to order parts from US so need to be specific to avoid ordering wrong stuff; This is a supercab 8800 lbs , can you confirm whether rear axle is a 10.25" sterling , and is that a ' full floater ' , also what is the width of rear brake shoes ?

    many thanks [email protected]
