Thanks for all your help. I purchased the valve from ford and it is the new release without the coolant line running to it. I took the valve back out and it open and closes fine just a little soot. I cleaned it back up and reinstalled. I had a Ford technician hook up his laptop and he can open and close the valve that way. So I am just confused as to where to start next.

Thank you for the reply. I just replaced the valve. it has less than 300 miles on it is this a common problem to have a bad valve that soon?

Hi M-68 sounds like your a man I need to talk to. I bought a 2008 6.4 with 52,000 miles It had the DPF and the CAT removed. and the EGR was left in. because of IM i reinstalled the CAT and DEF. and replaced the EGR and elbow. regened and passed IMs. truck sat batteries went dead. Jumped the truck went for a ride and went to set the cruse and threw a engine light. now code 1335 and i think. The truck wants to regen but wont. I removed the EGR and it is free and clear. I can open it with the laptop so I know it is working. Any thoughts? Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

Hi Mike, still working on the 5.4 It had a clogged injector on #8 replaced it. Still sounds like it has a miss. Original codes was a PO 174 and a #8 misfire. Would a clogged up cat make it keep doing a misfire? I'm a little busted up and really can't work like I want. My scanner isn't working right either. I'll try watching the trim and see if that can give me some info. It does pop back through the intake. Could it be the valve solinoides......has no code or noise in the chains.

I read you were a diesel mechanic. I have a 04' F250 6.0 and I was wondering If I could bring my truck to you to diagnose/fix something. I have been trying to fix it for a while and have had no luck. How can I get in contact with you?

Hello, can you please verify the following:
Ford Modular 5.3 and 6.8 gas engines have a DIFFERENT bellhousing bolt pattern than the 6.0 or any other diesel engines. There is So Much misinformation on the innerwebnets it will drive you crazy. I got guys at wrecking yards arguing with me!
    Thanks, Tim
