Things do not always work out the way we plan. I hoped to have Austin's bed, cab, fenders and hood ready for paint by the end of March or mid April. The bed is 98%, that's where I left it last week. One of my nephews needed a hand. His wife wants a new bathroom and ceramic tiled shower and recessed lighting. It is hard to say no. So there I go. I am going to loose 3 weeks at a minimum. When I finish this project the grass season will start. I may have to let the body/paint shop do a little more than I had planned.

It is a 1952 F1. It appears to me that when the boards are bolted to the frame that frame flex may have caused the top surface to slightly warp. When I see pics of these trucks it appears that this portion is covered by the cab and the bed. The outer edge of the top surface is good and flat and smooth about 2" in width from the front to rear of the running boards. This 2" area appears to me would be visible when the door is open. I just do not want to spend unnecessary time working an area that will not matter and could possibly just warp again by frame flex if that is the issue. There is not an F1 close by or I would go take a look at one. The car shows are still a few weeks out. I have the frame completed with the exception of the front bumper and the running boards and I am hoping to knock them out next week.

thank you. Looks like you have a nice one. I think we can bring her back to a respectable state. It originally came from Texas. I believe it made it to Ohio in 1991. I base this from a conversation with a PO I called just before Christmas. I found an old registration the mice hadn't completely destroyed got his name an address so I gave him a call. It surely has never seen the salty roads of Ohio the metal is very good.
