"Bull**** ! California has forced energy generation out of the state. Pure and simple. Deregulation had little to do with it."

Deregulation had almost everything to do with it. The 3 major energy suppliers in California were negligent in the upkeep of their existing power plants, and did not build new plants to anticipate increasing needs. Instead, they worked with Enron to push through AB 1890, the bill to make energy generation "competitive". They sold what generation plants they had to out of state companies, they had to buy energy back from them, at much higher prices. This was a deal that really hurt them as well, as part of the bill required retail prices to be fixed. vis: https://www.thenation.com/article/ca...tion-disaster/

"if illegals aren't driving, then how are they moving around ? They're not walking or riding horses."

They're riding buses mostly, but here in SoCal, a lot of them walk or ride bikes. If you can barely make enough money to eat, how can you possibly afford to buy a car, even a junker, and buy gas for it?

I have to write this in pieces as the web site only allows 1000 characters at a time.

"I've yet to see any studies done on the effects of wind farms, ...
...Our winters have been extremely mild for the past 5 years, ...
...Our weather patterns are driven by energy in the atmosphere, energy that's being removed to generate electricity..."

Check out this research paper on the effects of wind farms on climate/weather: The influence of large-scale wind power on global climate Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences

    and this: https://www.smithsonianmag.com/scien...mate-180949701

I've also noticed the milder winters around here that occurred in the last few years, accompanied by record high summer temperatures that lasted longer than ever before. It's just a couple of the effects of climate change. Be prepared for more.

Yea, in one of my computers. Shoot me your email address and I'll send em to you. Loved that car, my son did too. Like a few others, I shoulda held onto it. Went through the 390 in it, added a Crane 272 energizer cam, 428PI intake, Holley 750, FPA headers. Replaced the 2.75 center section in the 9" rear with 3.70's. Car ran high 14's after the changes at about 98 in the 1/4" mile. Had 55,000 miles on it when I found it in east Texas around the late 90's. We put maybe another 5,000 before I sold it. My email is [email protected]

I guess cause I sold the Ranger last year. Kinda got busy with my gun hobby and my 77 Comet. But hey, if you've got questions to ask, ask away. Always willing to help someone, even if they don't want it sometimes (I've been accused of dishing out "tough love" many times, LOL) I'll try to get over there and stir up some sheite I guess

Just wondering why no one has seen you at RPS or TRS for a long time? You always had good info there and somehow put up with us idiots! Some of the advice being giving lately sure is lacking.

the engine fired right up and ran fine with the way its configured before the spring snapped, so i'm thinkin after i reset the timing chain that should fix the problem, even with the distributor sitting the way it is... atleast i hope so
