Hi Subford, I just sent you an email asking about wiring diagrams for adding a trailer brake controller to my F250. Thanks in advance.

thank you very much. I suspect he has more issues to deal with. he asked me about grounds and I couldn t find anything about them in any wiring diagrams I had. I think he would be much better served by pulling codes, which I have advised him to do, but he will have to figure that out for himself. his trans is shifting from 1st to 4th . I also suggested a teca relay swap. after much trouble shooting and replace TPS and MLPs that cured a random limp mode problem I was having and I believe that might have been original problem. thanks again. steve

I am trying to help a young man with a 1994 ford f250 diesel eo4d. trans won t shift right. I sent copy of eo4d manual I have. he asked me where trans harness grounded? I have sent him all the wiring diagrams I have , but none of them show ground locations. I have tried to get him to pull codes, he doesn t seem to want to do this. I have tried to get him to post here and ask for help, doesn t seem to want to do that either . if it is not too much trouble could you help me. some young people are so clueless about trouble shooting. this is supposed to be a new dealer reman.

    Hi subford,

I am Marco from Calgary and I still have some problem with my 1989 Ford Econoline E350 Class C motorhome. You replied to one of my post last summer but since I see that you are very expert on this type of engine I would like to ask if you are available to help me to understand what is going wrong with this machine.

    Let me know.

Hello sir. I've posted about my truck in the relevant forum. But I really need some help getting it going, so I'm reaching out. It's a 1990 F150 302 5speed 4x4. I got the calibration code out off the door jam, 0-53E-R00 FOAE-6E061. I'm trying to find the correct PCM code for the truck, because it appears to have a JY or ebay ecu, because of the model and info written on it in sharpie. I want to eliminate the possibility of the wrong PCM being installed. My issue is that the truck dies when you stab the throttle. If you give it less than 1/4 throttle, it will be okay, but the drivablility is horrible. I tried to pull codes, but the CEL doesn't illuminate. When I put the jumper from STI to pin 2, and try to use a light, with the negative on pin 4, all that happens is the CEL on the dash illuminates, but no flashes. I've checked timing (at 10 to 11 degrees BTC) and fuel pressure (35 psi at idle, when accelerating engine, stays at 35 and drops slightly.) Any info is EXTREMELY appreciated.

Iíve got a 94 f350 460 5 spd 56k. One day it just snapped and went haywire barely running checj engine light and using twice the fuel. I cannot connect to the computer with scanner, I have checked fuel pressure, both tanks seem good, fuel volume good, gutted converter, fuel reg-cheap,air charge sensor, ign module, all no difference and has ran crappy every time since.I saw the thread about caps in the ecm so I pulled it out and two had one burnt leg, almost if not gone and one seemed ok? I went to tv shop and got three 47 u 16 v caps and replaced them. Put it in the truck and omg it ran great for about three to five mins. It has not done that since the trouble, but as it was idling, seems as if something clicked and went right back to crappy. I pulled the ecm, solder looks good but noticed duh after looking at the post, maybe that one had a different size? All of the orig are gone. Could this be it? Could you advise me before I pull all of my hair out?

Hi Subford new member here. If you could give me a little advise about my 89 Ford F-150 XL 4.9L with 5 Speed manual trans. I have fuel leaks in both tanks and the midship tank pump does not work anymore. Since I have to replace the tanks I was thinking (scary on my part lol) I could just get a new rear tank and new low pressure pump for the rear tank also a SFR , remove midship tank all together. The truck does not get used that much any more because I'm retired and on a fixed income, and it lives in IL which is near the snow belt which uses a lot of salt on roads during winter. I just dont need both tanks anymore. Do you think that is the best route to take on this project???? Any help would be greatly appreciated. and thank you for your time... Cajun One

subford, can you take a look at this thread and see if you have any ideas. Same truck that you helped me with the fuel pump testing / trouble shooting.

    Good morning,
Having read through this site I see you've demonstrated a heck of a lot of knowledge. I have a question about the fuel vapor separator in an E-350 (1986) 460 w/ carb, dual tanks, pumps in tanks. Basically this part is not passing fuel to the carb. This E350 was having problems with rear tank not working, front tank okay. I measured flow from each tank up to the separator and front tank was 2X the rear. I'm trying to understand how it works before I replace it.
Q1 Can the separator be cleaned if it is fouled?
Q2 Where am I getting the back pressure that allows front tank to work but not rear tank? (Flowrate on front 2gpm, rear 1gpm, each way more than required in my opinion to run...). Thanks in advance.
