Recently you replied on https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...-week-201.html with post # 3003
where you commented on a seller's advertisement that his truck was not a F-250, but some other with a F-250 badging.
In your comment you mention, "This is strictly a half ton with 8 lug outers swapped and F250 badges put on."

I bought a 1975 F-250 recently, and I am finding that the wheels I could buy for 8 lug is limited.
I had wondered what it would take to switch to 6 or 5 lug so that I have a greater selection of new wheels to choose from.
I have no intention of towing or hauling with the F-250, so I am not afraid to lessen the vehicle's capacity.
Your comment seems that you might be able inform me what would be involved in switching to 5 or 6 lug.
Would it require me to swap out axles?
Or is the plate the lugs are mounted on could be changed out?

    Sorry for the dummy question.
    Thanks in advance.

Hey, I'm in Durham! I just joined this site today. I've got a '95 F250 I could use some help with from an experienced Ford guy. This is my first Ford truck. Brand new dual tanks and the front one pissed all over the ground on me today when I filled it up. ;(
