    double clutching on a down shift... slow down, shift into neutral, let out clutch, rev engine. push in clutch and shift into a lower gear. let out clutch. some people can skip the clutch part after rev and can slip the transmission into the lower gear as the gear speeds match..
    shifting up is just the same only you are already at a high rpm, push in the clutch, let engine come to idle while shifting into neutral. when engine is at low speed, use the clutch and shift into higher gear and let out clutch. same trick as above, while in neutral shift into the higher gear when gears match engine speed.. good luck... "don't grind those gears"... i still remember my dad telling me that, when i was learning to drive the farm truck and tractor...
