I'm looking for a radiator for the 1972 F250 2WD 390 and I see Cold Case radiators mentioned. I haven't checked them yet, I find one; the overall Core and Radiator dimensions that look good!
For the existing radiator (as close as I could reasonably measure)
Core Width 26 1/4 (Cold Frame really really close, could be my measurement is a little off)
Core Height 19 1/2 (Cold Frame, Spot on)
Overall Height 26 1/2 with cap (Cold Frame spot on)
Overall Width 29 1/2 (Cold Frame spot on)
Thickness about 3 1/2 to to 3 3/4 (Close Frame 3" - no worries)
All should be good but to since up I need the mounting bolt locations.

Do you think I could get any relevant information from them for what follows.
On the existing radiator the mounting flange is about 1 1/2" (grill side)
The flange engine side for the shroud is about 3/4"
The distance between the radiator mounting bolt width is 28 1/2"
The Height between the radiator mounting bolts is 11 inches
The distance between the shroud bolt width is 27 1/2"
The Height between the shroud bolts is 15 inches

Nope, they don't have a dimensional with that information and the fellow on the chat line couldn't answer the questions, in fact it was about the same as dealing with an overseas support line, except it wasn't overseas.

Summit Racing doesn't have a dimensional drawing for their radiators posted.

Why in the world would you not do that, You pay to have them manufactured, to make them that information is required!

Doing some reading, I saw it mentioned the original steel wheel color was Wimbledon White for '67-72 trucks. Does that mean they were glossy? Or were they a semi-gloss? Trying to match the original appearance as closely as I can, reasonably. My truck didn't have the original wheels when I bought it so nothing to judge by firsthand.

What paint have people used for a good match? Will be stripping them bare and then an epoxy primer followed by top coat.

Also, I need to buy two stainless dog dish hubcaps to match the other two I acquired if anyone has some to sell. Thanks.

One of the next things I'll be purchasing for my '72 F350, as we prepare to drop in the 390 is a Mini Turbo Starter.
Below is the one I have in my Cart.
I'd really like to hear from people who have DONE THIS BEFORE - especially of you've used THIS PARTICULAR STARTER.

In the reviews, there is this comment:
Make sure you have the right wire and connectors to wiring this up from battery to ignition for the starter. Works great but limited resources on what gauge to use. But easy enough to figure out

What kind of special wiring has to be done???
Has anyone here ever done this???
I'd really like to hear from someone who has done this.

I don't want to buy this starter, and discover I need a degree to install it.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Hey everyone,
Used to be a frequent flyer on here when i had a '68 Custom Cab back when i was 17-20. I sold when I was 20 and regretted ever since. Last weekend I bought a '71 Sport Custom at 33 years of young, from the 2nd owner in Rich Hill, Mo. It has a built 347 Stroker and C6 transmission. New wiring harness, new paint and underbody and only bit of rot is 5" under driver cab, treated with rust converter and painted.

I recently purchased a 1971 Ford F250 with a 390 4.6L engine.
its a manual.

I recently had to change the starter and I made the rookie mistake of trading the old one in too early. Now I am having fitment issues with the new 3131 I am trying to install. Has anyone run into this issue? I ordered a mini starter to try but it hasn’t come yet. Just want to make sure I’m headed the right direction. I am getting a grinding sound from the 3131 in there, it’s not meshing right with the flywheel. The flywheel is in good shape.

what are the Mercury truck owners doing on here?? so I'm building (or thought I was) my dream truck.... something 70's on a '79 F250 frame with 60's front and rear, with a bumpside body on... so I have the frame, and the 1 ton axles, and just brought home a 1968 Mercury M100, because me being a true Canuck, I had to build me a canadian based/built rig! seems simple right? but of course, the truck I bought, a 1968 Mercury M100, is apparently 1 of only 334 built on Ontario before Ford cancelled the program in May of '68 and started building Ford trucks here.... this rig runs and drives, big 6 and the manual 3spd now floor shift, not sure if I have the heart to break down a truck good enough to restore being so rare vs what I intended?? what do you all think? body is tough forsure, but I was going the restomod route anyway, leaving the what looks like Robin Egg blue peaking out from behind the poorly done flat black, just spruce up the interior so wifey will ride with me, not flintstone style! finding Merc related trucks parts.... yeah right! tailgate anyone??

I've got a 1970 F100 Ranger with a 360FE in it. I bought it last year and had it in the shop for 5 months fixing suspension and front axle issues. I didn't touch the motor except for tuning the carb (it's got a 4bbl motorcraft 750 I believe??). I tuned it as best I could, got around 43 lbs vacuum and had to retard the timing a bit. But I got it running way better than it was, but my truck is getting roughly just over 5 miles a gallon. That's ridiculously low and with gas prices these days that ain't practical y'know? Anyone got any ideas what's wrong with it? I think it's got a cam in it, it's definitely had work done (aftermarket valve covers, oil pan, distributor) and sounds different than a regular idle. But getting only 5 mpg sounds horrible and way lower than anyone else's rig. Any ideas?

Can someone please tell me why they don't offer 2.5-inch lift kits for the 69-ford f-100 4x4 pickups and only for the 70-76 f-100 4x4s. I am currently restoring my 69-ford f-100 4x4 that's been in storage for 25-30 years I have already installed the front disk brake conversion probably going to put a hydro boost system on also. along with a bench works power steering set up. already replaced all the seals gaskets and axel U joints I have already purchased a 2- inch super lift kit. the more I look at it I wished someone made a 2.5 inch lift kit for the 69 f-100 4x4s really don't want to go to a 4-inch didn't really want to make a f-100 to look like a f-250 high boy just want to be able to put 33'' tall tires don't want to get into rubbing issues.
